Re: "Putting" "words" "in" "quotation" "marks"

PS. I’m not entirely convinced about Joe’s idea of shooting the slightly illiterate.
You might be surprised what being shot at can do for a mans character. :)

Re: My on going salt steel comparison journal

Sal is correct. I recall that was some stuff left over on the blade that flaked off when it finally was able to dry up. It makes me think some of the things that could be causing the discoloration Chinstrap is seeing. It could be a bunch of things like steel/iron/rust powder that was wiped off from ...

Re: "Putting" "words" "in" "quotation" "marks"

I don't go out of my way to watch my grammar and I will on occasion make up my own words. I never thought about the possibility of it bothering others. I don't intend on starting to worry now either. Not until someone is annoyed enough to start shooting in my direction. :)

Re: Is this the knife everyone clamors for?

I see nothing wrong with it. Great knife. I feel the same way. I'd love one in Cruwear or 4V, maybe even 3V. It must be fairly expensive to make in comparison to some other Spydercos and I'd bet money the Manix 2 lock. I also remember some folks complaining online about the famous lock back movemen...

Re: Striving For a Healthy Long Life

I've had a couple doctors tell me we are genetically programmed to have a certain lifetime. One guy stated a certain number of heartbeats. He explained it as why animals with higher heartbeats and metabolism have shorter lives and he said it's the same with us. There are certainly other factors such...

Re: High-Impact Ceramic (HIC) first folder to be released

Yeah, I have to agree with Mushroom. It might be a challenge just trying to talk the vendors into it. There would be issues doing it in Golden. I'm sure if they wanted it bad enough they could by assigning enough resources to it but would it be worth the time and effort doing it? The old ones put ou...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

I'd carry my Enduras no matter what the law said. I'm too used to it and have more than 30 years of muscle memory and because of that I can get it out and use it faster than any auto I have ever owned. I have arthritis and some nerve damage in my hand also which makes my hand numb at times and the d...

Re: New Sprint Run Hopefuls to Consider

I'm with you on the Harpy joe. Those are very good knives and well built. On the other hand I'd like a modern Merlin as well in FRN with a good steel. Vivi has brought up a C95 sprint more than once and I have to agree with him. They would probably be expensive now but with a nice tough tool steel (...

I'd guess the burr isn't gone but still there and making it feel really sharp until use when it folds and does as you see. That is my guess anyways. Good luck.

Re: Why is 1095 steel popular amongst knife makers?

1095 does have name recognition. They have been making knives with it since WW2 and generations have grown up with it including me. When I was a kid knives I could afford had carbon steel ( most often 1095) and Stainless or "surgical stainless" ( usually one of the 440 steels and sometimes...

Re: EXTREMELY disappointed with Spyderco. Update: Resolved!

Sal and Co. to the rescue!! Maybe, maybe not. I'm convinced Spyderco would straighten it out without any intervention because they are Spyderco. I was convinced of that from the first time I read the original post . For some reason the younger generation wants to whip up a mob every time someone ma...
