The Edge Is A Ghost?

What is this? What does it mean?

The sticker came with the fully serrated K390 Delica I just bought. Yea, now it’s on my car. 😉

Can’t get enough teeth.

Re: Are you going to Blade Show?

Looks like I need to get another Military “1” before they are gone. Prefer it to the 2.

Re: Is it time for the Delica 5?

Honestly, I don’t know what they would improve. The D4 is just about perfect. Lookup the Shabazz disassembly video. They need to change the internal construction so it’s less arduous to reassemble. But maybe that counts more as cqi than a d5. I can confirm though from real world experience it’s a c...

Re: Native 5 Lightweight - 2016 New Old Stock, Full SE, Black Blade, S35VN - CQI questions

I've had 4 Native 5 LW's now, two were DLC, one satin S90V and one satin Maxamet. The two DLC were gifted to people, one was also a factory second. I don't recall any major pivot issues (nor do I recall manufactured date unfortunately) but I will say all of them have improved greatly from a bit of ...

Is there a preferred wood for whittling or do you guys just grab dead wood from outside?
Yes.

Basswood (linden) is soft enough to carve easily and hard enough to hold some detail, so it is what I generally prefer, but I've used lumber scraps and random sticks as well.

Cool. Thanks.

Re: Native 5 Lightweight - 2016 New Old Stock, Full SE, Black Blade, S35VN - CQI questions

I may be missing something. There is no pivot bushing on the N5 LW is there? The pivot bushing is right above the blade in the 3rd pic, and in the blade in the 2nd and 4th pic. ;) :rofl Lord have mercy. Do you ever read something and mix up the word in your head with another word. I am reading pivo...

Re: Native 5 Lightweight - 2016 New Old Stock, Full SE, Black Blade, S35VN - CQI questions

As it turns out, after 2 days of use, it's smooth as butta now. :) Thanks all. Appreciate it. Good to know about the lube and the middle groove. I have the same knife in PE S35VN. Smooth action, great detent and centering. No blade or lock rock whatsoever. I had wanted an all-black N5 LW and jumped ...

Native 5 Lightweight - 2016 New Old Stock, Full SE, Black Blade, S35VN - CQI questions

Hey folks, I was fortunate enough to buy a new old stock Native 5 Lightweight from New Graham Knives. The knife was made in 2016 according to the box. It is a fully serrated black bladed model with a CPM-S35VN blade. It seems that maybe there was an update (CQI) to the pivot bushing in later models....

Re: The "compression made easy"-device - does it actually improve the comp.lock?

I think it is crap and unnecessary. I can open and close all my comp locks with my left or right hand with zero issues.

I also think the button on the Smock ruins the comp lock and makes it too easy to accidentally unlock IMO.

I've given up. I'm not even interested now. Buying other knives. Sorry to lose you Fred. We are building knives as fast as we can without reducing quality. Hope you think about us when a knife you like is being delivered. sal Sal, It was not a dig against you guys at all. That was very crass of me ...

Re: Knife lubricant

I need to oil the washers of my tenacious, i have wd-40 and household oil, which would be the best to use Those are quite possibly the worst 2 options. wd-40 is a poor lubricant and household (3 in 1) will gum up over time. If you use it for food prep, mineral oil. Otherwise there are a lot of good...

Re: New regular production Para 3s - S45VN with Stonewashed blade?

I would not be preferring stonewash if the the satin on Spyderco blades would actually look satin and not like medium grit belt finish briefly polished over. It is not bad, but not really to be called satin IMO ... See, I prefer the belt finish. I just very much dislike any blade that is very refle...

Re: New regular production Para 3s - S45VN with Stonewashed blade?

I must be in the minority with disliking the stonewashed finish. I don't want my blades to be shiny. I like how the S30V Para's currently are.

Great people, and more relaxed than other knife related forums. Plus, I am mainly interested in Spydies and not many other brands. First Spydie was a Scorpius. I had to know more about it. Where else do you get to interact directly with the owners and great people that work at the company. Been here...
