This topic deserves to see daylight

Hi Sal,

have you made a decision regarding a short run of the Perrin Bowie in micarta?

Many thanks for your help!

Manfred

Hey Vanguard,

We always appreciate input. I can speak with the maker about a Perrin Bowie proto in micarta. These are tough times and they might be interested in a short ...

Many thanks for your thoughts, help and time!

Yes, the edge is sharp.

Attached you find a pic of the front side.

So some hours after my "out-of-the-box-disappointment":

- I have a brand new EDC
- and I have to buy another one for the collection

It's not just the uneven grind.
The edge grind is much higher than on any of my other Stretches (e.g. my CF one, of which I have attached comparison photos).

If I would live in the U.S., I surely would send it to Golden, as I am not skilled in sharpening - but unfortunately such a "mission" isn't ...

Bad surprise at the receipt of my holy grail!

I love Spyderco.

I love the CF Stretch.

I love the Black FRN Stretch even more.

I have been looking forward to the Blue FRN Stretch in ZDP-189 to be my all-time #1 Spyderco.

And exactly this one came with the worst edge grind ever seen on a Seki Spyder.

Has anyone else received a Blue Stretch ...

no more limited runs

If we would see a second run of the Forum Native,
any future announcement of a "limited to xxx pieces run"
would be meaningless.

different color?

From the pictures available at the bay, the handle color
looks pretty much the very same as on the ZDP Delica.

In the Supplement Catalog the blue is much darker.

Has there been a last-minute change of color?

FRN Stretch = THE knife!

There is only one knife that I adore more than my CF Stretch:

the FRN Stretch

(due to its lower weight and the slightly thicker handle)

I hope everybody who is interested, gets the opportunity to handle this blade
– you will be impressed quite a bit.

- maroon / dark brick red

- flat dark earth or a darker tan ...

Hard to say if it will be EXACTLY the same color as the ZDP Delica. It's my understanding that FRN is naturally colorless and dye is added to create the color. Given that, exact color matches between batches, even batches made one right after another, may be difficult to achieve. All the more so ...
