My new Vallotton arrived this morning, actually yesterday morning since it is already Sunday on the east coast. But anyway, it came just like the other one....PERFECT in all respects. Here's a few pics, and I have added a foldover, deep-carry pocket clip. http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr108/cut...

New Spyderco arriving tomorrow

Been a while since I have come over and posted. But every time I get a new Spydie I have to come here because you( all ) can truly understand the excitement! :) What I getting you ask?? A little of the back story first. About 2 weeks ago I had one of my Spyderco knives out cleaning it. At the same t...

I bought my first Sharpmaker before having any Spyderco knives, and I found out that it really did sharpen other knives than Spydies. Got 'em razor sharp too! :)

Its terrible, some people are fine with just a few, but some people need one like they need a new pair of undies everyday . I got a bunch recently and need to slow down whether I want a new one or not. I need to appriciate the ones I have and use them. Too many knives = not enough use time for each...

Been collecting/trading/selling for the past 40 years, and have never spent any quality time with a Spyderco knife, I have with the Sharpmaker, but not the knives. Not that I haven't had a couple, just never really carried or used them and traded them off for something somewhere. Fast forward to thi...

Hello all. Just got around to checking this thread. I have pics and will post them later today. Currently a filter at work screws with Photobucket keeping me from posting the pics. I will though as soon as I get home. I will have to take a couple more of the clips though. The link is http://www.uskn...

My Perrin PPT is marked with Taiwan only, but the Vallotton, and Gayle Bradley are Taichung Taiwan. All I can say about Taichung is that they are putting out custom quality knives! :) :)

2 new Spydie's in 'da house!!

These arrived this past Wednesday, a Gayle Bradley, and a 92mm Citadel. Both of these are absolutely PERFECT! Everything that a knife knut looks for to tell if it is a quality piece, these both have it. Centered blades, tight/smooth actions, SOLID lockup, razor sharp blades with even grinds, great f...

Patcatman, your story is my story. I had the exact same experience with my first ZDP knife. Here is what to do. Profile the edge to the 30 degree angle using the coarse stones or coarsest you have. Depending on the angles on your edge this will take quite a bit of time. Do not try to take any short...

I've actually found a product called Mother's Mag Polish to do an excellent job for polishing. Four or 5 years ago I bought a small container of Renaissance Wax, and use it on all my blades, and still have over half the can left! A little dab will do you is the word here! This will be my 3rd Taichun...

Thanks for the info guy's. I knew that it couldn't be two full ounces less, but the way it was said the reviewer appeared to think so. I don't think it was a mistake with the decimal placement either. So that makes me feel better about the knife. I don't know what exactly it is with the weight, but ...

So, I have some extra cash that's burning a hole in my pocket. I'm torn between 3 spidies: the native 5, the paramilitary 2 and the lefty military. There is really do specific use for the knife. I will be carry sometime, but to be honest, I rarely actually use a knife. I carry them more out of enjo...

Gayle Bradley question

I have this knife on order and have a question about it, specifically the weight of the knife. Most places give the weight as 5.5 ounces, with Spyderco doing the same. I did see one place that gave it a 5.3 ounce weight. Now I'm not concerned with the weight at all, unless it is a lightweight, and t...

Rude blade! What model is that, do tell... That is the Limited Edition Tilt. It is Kershaw's first knife with the KVT bearing system, where it rolls on bearings to open. The blade is a Composite blade with the cutting edge being Udderholm Vanax 75. It is a framelock knife with the backside cut bein...

Can't tell a lie, it's not always a Spyderco that I have in my pocket. :( But they do find their way in on a regular basis. The one's that get carried are; titanium Military, Vallotton Sub-Hilt, and the Perrin PPT on dress up days when I want a "small" folder. Will be adding a Gayle Bradle...

More Spyderco's

Are coming my way! :D :D I placed an order, with my normal dealer, for a 93mm Citadel Auto, and a Gayle Bradley folder. These should be here by the end of the month, if not earlier. Of course I've read nothing but good about the Bradley, and am looking forward to trying out the M4 blade steel. The a...
