Spyderco Sage 2 Titanium/cPM-S30V...$150 Titanium Folder Made in Taiwan?! What's up?

So I've been eying up the Sage Titanium series for a little while as I love Titanium frame lock folders. Knowing the knife was made overseas in Taiwan made me skeptical about quality control, durability, and value. Upon getting a Ti-Sage, I realized the fear I have is nothing more than my own prejud...

ZDP is a nice cutting steel, but like you I have not been able to justify the price difference because: VG-10, Spyderco's BASE steel, holds a more than satisfactory edge and has proven stain and impact resistance. I have not found ZDP-189 to hold an edge so much better than VG-10 that I have to writ...

****! That's too bad. I love their stuff (vicariously, of course, as I am a Canadian and would never own something proscribed by the authorities.) Thanks. When they actually do something, their quality is AMAZING. Tony Marfione is one of the most talented individuals in cutlery ever...he is also a ...

What's your source on this? One of the largest Microtech dealers around. Supposedly, they have stopped production on all double action automatics about two months ago, and they are understaffed by about 235-245 people, as according to what was in an agreement with Pennsylvania, they are supposed to...

John; Those are very nice knives...I wasn't aware they were full scale production! :D Zac, I want to point out that there are several G10 auto models out there. Most of them made by Robbie Dalton. The ergonomics and designs of Daltons are tremendous. There are many Daltons with hollow grinds. In fac...

Spyderco's CS team is very busy now and they can take a few days to get back on emails. If you call them, Terry or Amanda will be able to help you out. You will send the knife in, they will examine it, determine whether to fix or replace it, and send you a new one.

I posted this on Glock Talk a while back for those wondering how automatics work and the difference in Double Action versus Dual Action. My complaint with Lone Wolf is that many have had them open in their pocket, myself included. Originally posted by NickZac There are different types of automatic k...

Initial usage of H1 is similar to 440C, with a bit less edge retention. If you have a serrated H-1 knife, it gets hard very quickly with hard usage. Impact resistance is impressive.

Microtech sucks and the Hawk is made to be used as defensive piece primarily. It will fall apart with utility usage. Microtech's warranty service has about as much skill as drunk chimpanzees and because of the things the owner has said, I will NEVER buy another MicroCrap again. I would consider the ...

Why people hold the bias may be the long standing concept that a knife cannot have a good edge retention without being a carbon based steel...H1 when made properly proves this (once fact, now myth) wrong. It is also showing to have good impact resistance as those I have distributed these to have the...

Zac - I was hoping chopping with the CE would be possible... thanks for confirming this. The flat grind, thick blade, strong lock, and weight of the Manix make it close to a fixed blade. Indeed, the lock is stronger than many fixed blades. It will indeed be good for chopping even in the CE, as the ...
