Calendar contest PPT

Just wanted to give a big thanks to Spyderco; I got my PPT package from the calendar contest yesterday. It's definitely an awesome knife. I'll post some pics and my impressions once I've carried it for a little while.

Larger Manix 2

I think I remember hearing about a larger Manix 2 version that what coming out at some point. Does anyone have specs or a general time frame for it? I think I'd prefer a larger Manix 2, but if it's still a long way off, will probably have go ahead and get the current one. Thanks for any info ...

If it's the same thing I'm thinking about, it was designed for whitewater/rescue use. The sharpened top edge would let you cut away from a patient to remove clothing and gear while still holding the blade in a normal grip. The idea was from a forum member called Trailmix. I think he has posted here ...

Thanks for all the pics. 2009 is going to be a lean knife year for me, but this one is definitely a must-have. Didn't someone say the Manix 2 would be offered in two sizes? I'd love to have one as big or bigger than the original.

Caly 3

Check out the Caly 3 if you haven't yet. It might be larger than what you're looking for as it is about the same size as the Delica, but it has G10, wire clip, and a lock back. In my opinion it's close to the perfect small/medium knife for all around use.

I just received a Tenacious that I bought to give to my brother. It's such a nice knife that I'm kind of reconsidering giving it away. :o This thing is VERY impressive for the $30.00 you can find them for. The ergonomics are great, the lock is solid with no play and engages on the left side of the ...

digital camo Military

I saw a reference to a digital camo G10 Military being close to production in one of the 2008 Blade threads. Are there any pictures of this that could be shown?

I'd love to see :spyder: make the Lava in etched SS or unlined G10. The FRN/H1 concept is pretty cool too. Thanks for all those renderings Spydo.

I'm a fan sturdy metal pens too. If they did want to make something, I would probably buy it. It would be nice to have some sort of non-rubber grip enhancement where you hold it near the tip. Machined knurling or even the acid-etch pattern used on some of the stainless :spyder: 's would be cool.

Most of my knives are PE, with preference given to SE for certain models (hawkbills, the Dodo :D :spyder: ) My ideal EDC combo is a 3.25-4" PE primary folder, with a 2.5-3" SE secondary folder. That will get pretty much anything done.

I don't entirely dislike the CE, it just works better on larger ...

I think the Sage concept is really cool and will definitely pick one up at some point. Does anyone know if the 3" blade length is the cutting edge or from the handle? This would make a great new office knife for me, but we have a 3" limit where I work.
