I've ended up polishing all my spyder clips since they're in and out of my pockets all the time. I started out with a fine grit sand paper to remove the blacking on the clips but finished using the dremel w/ cotton wheel and flitz like you did, and the results are great.

I've also heard that oven ...

as far as I've seen, the last country to touch the knife (complete it) has their stamp on the blades. Almost all countries do this, so I would assume (yes, I know the rammifications of such actions =) Spyderco would as well.

I carry one of each (BM 921 on the left, Spyderco Cento4 on the right). both are great knives and perform the same tasks equally well... big difference in price though. it just comes down to what you prefer in the end.

I work in a cutlery shop, so I get to play with hundreds of knives all day, and ...

Alton Brown is actually a Kershaw spokesman, so most of the knives that you see on the show are Kershaw's. I've seen Leeks, Bumps and a variety of their other pocket knives as well as his designed kitchen knives. I've seen a few other knives used, but they were all from older seasons (before 5 or 6 ...

where did you get that zdp is vg-10 from?
they could have gotten that idea because the company Cold Steel has a laminated blade nowadays that is VG-1 (is that even in the same family as VG-10, since I'd never heard of it before?) laminated w/ 420... my assumption would be that he saw VG-** and ...

we used to get those S&W "Cuttin' Horse" dual-blade knives in my store. They're pure junk, we even had to send a few back because they were defective upon arrival and had a lot of returned ones for similar issues.

They apperantly stole the design but not the engineering behind it :D

I'd be happy to post pics of the knife in question, but it's a tad beat up, so the pics would probably be hideous :D Probably my fault though... I got it to replace my BM 921 and the Centofante IV is more of a gents knife... still, for some reason the VG-10 seems to stay sharp much longer than the ...

Militec-1 seems to give me the best results from the things I've used in the past, but I find it works better if it's heated after application (it is used as a gun barrel lubricant after all) with a hair dryer.

Saying hey and a couple questions

I've been reading posts here for quite a while, but finally decided to post myself, and I have a couple questions.

First of all, I have a Centofante IV that I got from NGK, and it's numbered as 102V, which implies that it's a variant. The only thing I can think that the base model would have been ...
