Unless he edited something and got autokicked to moderation again. I don't know how long that can happen.

If you can find one of the G-10 UKPKs, the back is fully enclosed. Just a little information from an enabler.

Re: 2024 OpFocus Seconds Sale?
Got the email this morning. June 23, I plan to be there. I'll probably drive up on Saturday and hang out overnight again. Hopefully I'll remember to pick up my chair this time.

Re: Manbug doesn‘t safely lock anymore
I have had lint collect under the lockbar as well as in the lock well in the blade tang. Lint in the lockwell is easy to see and easy to clean out, but crud under the lockbar is hard to see and can be a real problem to clean out. Open the blade half way and shine a light into the blade channel where...

I have bad news. The death of social media cannot happen soon enough to save civilization. We are doomed, so enjoy whatever time you have left.

Re: Different Generation Ladybugs
They are both 3rd Generation, just different production runs. The one is indeed Foliage green, a color developed to match Army uniform color, rather than the older and much more rare grey.
The black one is a bit newer, after the change to screw construction and with Sal's mark added.

Re: Civilian sharpening angle
The ceramic rods don't really have a grit rating as such. As far as stock removal and scratch pattern go, I personally find the brown rods fall between a well broken-in DMT Coarse (blue) and a well broken-in DMT Fine (red) and the white rods a bit finer than DMT Extra Fine (green). I realize that ma...

Re: Ikuchi, the best Spyderco folding filet knife?
I have to agree with Matt, the Ikuchi blade is nowhere near flexible enough for filet duty.

Re: Civilian sharpening angle
The serrations are ground on one side only, the back side is the angle of the primary grind. The actual total included angle can vary a bit, but should be very close to the 20° angle of the SharpMaker. Color the edge bevel with a Sharpie marker and take a couple of passes to see where the marker is ...

Re: Changes to OpFocus Program
Today I tried to sign up for OpFocus Program and I didn’t finish the application because at some point ID.me asked to provide my social security number. I thought this is ridiculous, why do I have to give my ssn in order to complete my application? Members of OpFocus please let me know if you had t...

Re: H1 Fixed blades
The serrations are ground all at once on a shaped wheel. It isn't the heat that causes the work hardening, it is the mechanical/abrasive removal of material that does it. That's why it is always hollow ground, since that process is done on both sides at once. Grinding one side at a time results in b...

Re: Flattening Whestones
Glass with a plastic protective film, like the stuff they put on new appliances (the "Remove Before Using" stuff). That way the silicone carbide grit sticks in the plastic instead of grinding away the glass, at least in theory.

Re: Building a Custom Knife for Sal: CPM S60V
It's going to be interesting to see how it holds up in use. As I recall, the initial run of 440V/S60V Military suffered a lot of chipping at a lower hardness than this.

Yep, it appears to have the integral spring, a feature that went by the wayside pretty quickly. Nice find.
Edit to add: Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here. I happen to have one of those as well.
