Re: Past Mule Teams

The SPY-27 is the only one that sold out in under a week, I can tell you that much.

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

I still think asking Spyderco for a utility knife is like asking Ferrari for a go-cart. We now return you to the fantasy in progress.

Re: FRN Scales (?)

For what it's worth, I believe the handle will be the same, so current scales should work on it. Just the blade shape will be different is my understanding.

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

I would advise against starting with 4mm stock for that project.

Re: Do we do people disservice?

Since most of the people I interact with daily should require adult supervision to be within 10 feet of a sharp object, I simply don't suggest knives.

AND if Spyderco did make a disposable blade platform, we could probably get a pack with multiple blades of Maxamet and S110V and Rex121 all for under $20.
It would effectively obsolete the Mule program.
Please step away from the crack pipe.

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

Super steel blades would be more in Spyderco's philosophy, but they defeat the purpose of utility knives, which is disposable blades that you don't have to sharpen. If you are just going to sharpen it and keep using it, why not just use a real knife? The edge IS the knife. The rest is user interface...

Re: A Kydex Thread

I've flared them with a center punch and a ball pein hammer, but the proper tools aren't terribly expensive and make the job much easier.

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

I do have a serious question here. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a well-designed knife with great ergonomics, made from premium materials with a blade of carefully selected high-performance steel honed to a razor edge when you do all the real work with a 5 cent utility knife blade? I know a lot o...

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

Something to consider regarding that sloppy, rattley fit. Not all utility knife blades are the same thickness. Crafting a holding mechanism that can deal with that isn't going to be easy.

Re: Need advice before to buy used spyderco g2 stainless

It is a lot older than that (1990 or thereabout) but it looks like it is excellent condition. Those Kraton rubber inserts don't usually last this long. If the price is right for your budget, I'd say buy it.

Re: A Kydex Thread

Mine isn't pretty, but it works. Done in about half an hour with a heat gun, cordless drill and a bench vise. The top screw by the handle adjusts the tension. No rattle and no chance of it falling out. If I can do this on my first try, anyone can. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/kk28/yablanow...

Re: 2021 para 3 with s45vn steel

Does anyone know when the new Para 3s & PM2s with S45VN will be shipped out to dealers? I don’t think it will be anytime soon. At least not until most of the s30v stock is gone. https://i.imgflip.com/4wuax5.jpg As a left hander I have gotten used to the regular compression lock. Exclusives and spri...

Re: Spyderco Custom Shop

People still seem to forget that the other companies they are comparing Spyderco to are all much larger and older companies, with more resources (i.e. more already trained workers) than Spyderco has available. But I guess new models are boring and you'd rather have your personal variation of an old ...
