Try looking at the Chinook, super knife, strong almost to a fault, blade choice is up to you, mine is a plain edge. Use it for daily carry unless I get "dressed up" then it is my Native 2.

Had one and sent it back! Not nearly as useful as my leatherman. parts didn't fit, file coating flaked off, small plier handles make that function useless! The only positive thing about it is the blade and warranty. Also note that they are no longer going to make them, so unless you want it for a co...

For the Chinook style blade and it's normal usage, plain edge was my choice.

US made does not always impress me! Try comparing any US blade to the old Japanese katana's! Or look at Beretta Arms - 425 years in the business.
All that said it is a toss up as to which knife you want. Key word YOU want.

I have sharpened knives for 55 years with flat stones, yes they do work, yes they take a lot longer. Now I have a 204 and find any reason to revert.

I do believe that the CQC7 was really and Emerson design, followed the CQC6. BM [icked up the option to "mass produce" them as opposed to Emersons hand built. Have an Emerson CQC7 and will put it up against anything out there! That said I own several Spyderco's, mostly because I can! "...

Opted for the Native II with a combo blade and stainless handles. It looks a lot like an experimental Spydie that I found at a local gun show. Also ordered the Sharpmaker 204.
