Re: Lum Tanto...Yes or No
Thanks for bumping this thread-- answers the thread I started. I personally think the CF on my Szabo folder looks pretty good and would be good for the Lum Tanto, but looks like people don't like CF as much. Easiest way currently to get some hamon is on the composite blades. Any official word from S...

Re: Was there mention of another Lum Tanto sprint somewhere?
Awesome, glad to see the mutual interest, but I could've sworn I saw official word from the Spyderco gang about another Lum Tanto sprint.
Cough, CF and Maxamet or Composite blade (get that hamon on!). Cough.

Was there mention of another Lum Tanto sprint somewhere?
Sorry if it is in another thread, I couldn't find it in search.
Aside from the previously-issued grey sprint run of the C46, is there another sprint planned?

Does anyone make Rocklobster scales like Anso did?
Saw a similar post about another knife, so opted to start a new thread instead of hijacking that one. Back in the day, Jens Anso would do (metal) bolstered, sculpted G10 scales for his custom Rocklobsters. Always a shame that the Spyderco Rocklobster didn't get released with the same (though, oddly,...

Re: Your Favorite Obscure Spyder
To me the TOAD model was one Spyder that I personally just didn't have much use for except for just being a collector piece. I was told by a friend of mine who is really into cigars that it would make a perfect "cigar knife". Maybe that is what it was designed for. Now the SPYKER on the o...

Re: Name the spyderco you can't pull trigger on
Either one of the Gayle Bradley M4's. I've been on the fence, and haven't been pushed over yet. I'm sure it's comfortable and performs well, but the design seems kind of standard...
And Lil' Sub-Hilt. Have the big one, but not sure about the smaller version.

Re: Your Favorite Obscure Spyder
The Toad is such a solid, obscure little design. Too rare these days to actually put mine to use, so that would be a fun one to get a sprint of. The SpyKer is perhaps not overly obscure, and was almost perfect, if not for the godawful billboard on the blade. Sold mine because of it, but it's the one...

Re: Nooooo, my beloved Centofante...
Just an idea, but maybe you can embrace the break where it happened. Perhaps just do a chisel-type tip, like you see in a razel or give it slight belly to make it a mini-Captain? That way, you get another cutting surface and reduce the total amount of grinding/reshaping needed (given the cost of the...

AH! Okay, those liner/backspacer comments and pics really helped clear things up for me. Wow! I get it now. Thanks for the input, David, SF Native, and Nick!

Can someone help me understand the AT Barr One-Eyed Jack?
Not a troll post, I promise you, and apologies if this is redundant with anything. I've been away from the Spyderco scene for a few years and just got back in with the Maxamet Manix 2, M4 Military, EuroEdge, Slysz Bowie, Slysz Techno, Lionspy (large and small), Roc, and most recently the Black/Coyot...

Would someone describe how you put this blade to use? The front of the blade is for controlled cuts-- I find that it's really terrific for opening packages, since you can cut the tape without worrying about poking through to the other side. The recurved part of the blade is great for stuff like rop...
