I had a choice between a G-10 PE Rookie or a PE FRN Native. I took the Native and have regretted it ever since.

I've bought from him and had a highly satisfactory experience. His website indicates that he can only retail discontinued Spydies to the public--which is just fine since it's a source for hard to find items. I think all other brands are sold without this restriction.

Hawkbill, for me typically it's slicing sandwiches in half that I usually reach for a "straight" blade. Granted, it can be done with the Merlin but not very efficiently and not without dulling the point pre-maturely. Perhaps, it may be because I haven't yet learned the proper technique--an...

Although I carry my PE Merlin quite often I cannot say that it can be an all-in-one EDC. It is useful for opening DVD and CD wrappings, snack bags, and those tough plastic bubble packaging. Another knife is usually needed as a backup for certain chores. Awhile ago, I suggested that Spyderco make a m...

If you like Persian type blades, Spyderholes, and pistol grip aluminum handles, then you'll probably like the Ayoob. The knife is thin and carries comfortably in your pocket. The design is unconventional and a love for the form is an acquired taste. If you're a fan of this unusual design, then you m...

I like the smell of titanium in the morning. Spyderco makes one of the best G-10 handles; however, for this guy it's ti. Smooth in the hand, hefty, and elegant--what more can I say? Okay, how about the handle design gives me sufficient grip on the knife. The ti handle will make the knife slip into a...

Hi Daywalker, did you get the plain-edged or serrated? Numbered? I've read where someone here carries his Toad in the watch pocket of his jeans. What's that you say? "What's a watchpocket?" Yes, me too--I haven't worn pants with a watchpocket for decades. I guess if you keep it isolated th...

My Mili is an older ATS34 version so it doesn't have the "Earth" label. Conspiracy theorists contend that the Military is of such an advanced design that it must have been made through reverse engineering from alien technology. And, it has been suggested that the men in black (MIB) have di...

I don't know what era my PE Worker came from. It came in blue packaging similar to the box my Executive came with. I always thought the swedge was sharpened enough to cut string (I read something somewhere to that effect). However, the swedge on mine (NIB) is obviously not factory sharpened. What's ...

Interesting. I had to look at it for at least 10 minutes so my eyes could adjust to see a butterfly pattern. But then, I wasn't quite sure so I looked at it another 5 minutes. (These Rorschach tests are really ambiguous). Finally, I think it's an abstract spider design that is being reflected off of...

Good question, 4077th. I'm a fan of the Spyderco JD Smith also. Awhile back I tried looking for more knives from Smith but all I could find was information that he made swords. I wouldn't mind seeing some archived galleries of his early works. (I'm assuming he's a retired knifemaker by now).

How about making the ring MBC-rated. (A one-finger knuckle duster).
