Would you rank it as less durable than G-10? MUCH less durable than G-10. The dealer the EDCF user contacted said that it was "stiff but bendable," not as bendable as Kydex but "probably more bendable with a little heat," which I thought to be a bit miraculous. Was that an overs...

OK, back to reality.... Having worked with Moonglow quite a bit, I can offer some observations. My best guess is it is a polyester base, based on smell and how it works. Think polypearl, if you've ever worked with that stuff. If you drop it it may break, or it may just deform, depending on how hard ...

FWIW, real Micarta is cloth, or paper, and phenolic resin. Most folks who make home brew micarta use acrylic resin. It works, but you lose the one characteristic of micarta which makes some folks prefer it over G-10 and CF - the way it sticks to your hand when wet. Actually, when I make my own home...

It probably goes something like this: 1. Take apart your knife. 2. Draw an outline of how the blade section of the knife looks ontop of your mule. 3. Cut. 4. Angle the lock section. 5. Reassemble. With a lot of paying attention between each step. :) Lots of assembly/disassembly steps in there, too....

Mule Folder.... Well, SOMEBODY had to do it!

OK, by request, I'm posting this here: When Spyderco announced their latest Mule in CPM S35VN, I decided I wanted to do something different with one: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/2962/brokenmule1.jpg http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/1541/brokenmule2.jpg I'll probably end up enlarging the opening...

Doc,
Best wishes to you. I hope your break will indeed be short and refreshing for you.

Boker / Chad Los Banos G4 A First Look

Seems to be a serious dearth of pix of the G4, so I thought I'd try to help fix that :) Presentation (Front) side: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5568/g41u.jpg Clip and lock side. You can see here how the liner lock projects above the scale line. http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/1797/g42q.jpg Very nic...

Peel ply CF will polish up like any other CF. Take it to 1500 grit paper, then move to a polishing paste. Automotive paint "medium cut" should work fine.

If you don't want to deal with the dust issue, wet sand!
