Re: Upping the price.

To those of you who do not want to pay for Spyderco products, I say depart and do not return. Either trust those managing the creation of Spyderco products or find another manufacturer that pleases you. Spyderco the corporation, the First Family of Spyderco, it's employees and fans do not need you ...

Re: Calypso Jr Sprint Run Considerations

The only reason to leave it as is (pinned construction, sharpening notch, etc.) is for collector's value/OCD of consistency. I am not a fan of sharpening notches and would like to see that change. I think the primary reason for not changing from pinned to screw construction is that the molds are no...

Re: Calypso Jr Sprint Run Considerations

I can't help but feel that the LC200N salt version is very appropriate for a knife with fish scales.

Re: Upping the price.

I've only bought Spyderco ever since discovering them back in 1997, but recent pricing has had me eyeing some of the other options out there (WE, Civivi, Kizer and Giant Mouse all tempting me with certain models). I didn't buy a single Spyderco outside of the factory seconds sale last year. Part of ...

Re: Autism awareness knife?

So, it’s one of the earliest but also the most recent - makes complete sense. No offense Nick but it’s your answers like that that make me not want to post in this forum anymore. Answers that clarify the context of why he referred to it as a most recent offering? He acknowledged you were correct in...

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?

I have a ton of knives (thanks factory seconds sales!) that I keep in SpyderPacs. What I do is select 5 (3 tip up for the right pocket and 2 tip down for the left) to put into rotation for a month or so. This way I'm only picking out of 3 knives for one pocket and 2 for the other. After about a mont...

Re: Could this Delica 4 be a fake?

It’s a FrankenDelica. Those are indeed the dark green (British racing green or BRG) scales off the ZDP-189 Delica from back in the day (not even the original color of those knives either, they originally used a beautiful light blue that really needs to come back). The VG-10 blade originally came in...

Re: SpydieWiki update thread

I guess I didn't realize my continued access was a glitch. I just thought Spyderco took over hosting and left all the permissions for the then-current editors intact, as Mr. Blonde and I were really the only ones updating the site in the later times before Spyderco took over, so I didn't notice a bi...

Re: Stretch 2 XL Damascus Blue Nishijin sprint

It's entirely possible they missed the flaws in QC and it may be worth an exchange from wherever you bought it from. After the exchange, your flawed return would get returned to Spyderco, they would likely turn it into a factory second (marking it with a little notch on the spine), and somebody will...

Re: 2023 Seconds sale! ..are you going?

What was the blemish on your Drunken? Pretty solid price! All I can figure is that it's because of this weird, hazy finish on the blade. The rest of the knife is flawless as far as I can tell. Since it's a second and I want to carry and use it anyway, I don't really care about it having a slight ha...

Hi Jabba! Nice haul for sure! At this point about the only factory second I'd be interested in would a be a Drunken. I looked for them in the online seconds sale but they weren't listed. I'm curious to know how much they sold for?
$315 for the Drunken.

Re: 2023 Seconds sale! ..are you going?

Here's my haul. Half the folders are for me (all the fancy ones), the other half are to give away to friends (I already gave away the Manix 2 to a friend I visited after the sale yesterday). Going in, I was hoping to pick up a Kapara, McBee, and Yojimbo 2 so was pleased to find those. I hadn't expec...

Re: 2023 Seconds sale! ..are you going?

I don't know how early you have to get there to be first these days. The first couple times I went I was second in line (getting there Wednesday afternoon) by a small margin, but a couple people have been pushing that way, way earlier in recent years. I think I saw Rich is getting there Thursday aft...
