I'm considering it. We'll see if my work schedule allows me to or not this year.

Re: The Deacon
What a bummer. While I don't spend nearly as much time on the forum as I used to, I had noticed Paul's less frequent posts the past few years. Paul was always happy to share his vast knowledge of Spyderco and was instrumental in helping me track down information for the Spydiewiki back when it was ...

Re: Summer Sale 2024?
I ended up ordering the sprint Endela (since I don't have this model yet) and a pink/black Delica for a friend. $210 shipped to my door. I think these are my first non-factory-seconds-sale knives in over two years!

Re: Trash etiquette
This has never happened to me because I've lived in LA for almost 40 years, and almost nobody I know carries a pocket knife. The exceptions are people like me who work in the film industry in a tech role (camera, or other production jobs) and they are all carrying good knives. Mostly Spyderco & BM ...

Re: Help! Older Police model needs identifying!
Looks like the uncoated aluminum was available as early as 1989. I don't see a blade steel marking on yours, which Spyderco started adding in 1992. So this looks like somewhere between 1989-1991, which lines up with the years they put "POLICE MODEL" on the blade.

I was watching Dark Matter episode 7 on Apple TV+ and the protagonist goes into a gun store and, failing to buy a gun, gets a knife instead. The counter case is full of Spyderco knives and he picks a "Spyderco Civilian" (it's not, it's a Harpy).

Re: Upping the price.
To those of you who do not want to pay for Spyderco products, I say depart and do not return. Either trust those managing the creation of Spyderco products or find another manufacturer that pleases you.
Spyderco the corporation, the First Family of Spyderco, it's employees and fans do not need ...

Re: Calypso Jr Sprint Run Considerations
The only reason to leave it as is (pinned construction, sharpening notch, etc.) is for collector's value/OCD of consistency.
I am not a fan of sharpening notches and would like to see that change.
I think the primary reason for not changing from pinned to screw construction is that the molds ...

I can't help but feel that the LC200N salt version is very appropriate for a knife with fish scales.

Re: Upping the price.
I've only bought Spyderco ever since discovering them back in 1997, but recent pricing has had me eyeing some of the other options out there (WE, Civivi, Kizer and Giant Mouse all tempting me with certain models). I didn't buy a single Spyderco outside of the factory seconds sale last year. Part of ...

So, it’s one of the earliest but also the most recent - makes complete sense.
No offense Nick but it’s your answers like that that make me not want to post in this forum anymore.

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?
I have a ton of knives (thanks factory seconds sales!) that I keep in SpyderPacs. What I do is select 5 (3 tip up for the right pocket and 2 tip down for the left) to put into rotation for a month or so. This way I'm only picking out of 3 knives for one pocket and 2 for the other. After about a ...

Re: Could this Delica 4 be a fake?
It’s a FrankenDelica. Those are indeed the dark green (British racing green or BRG) scales off the ZDP-189 Delica from back in the day (not even the original color of those knives either, they originally used a beautiful light blue that really needs to come back). The VG-10 blade originally came ...

Re: SpydieWiki update thread
I guess I didn't realize my continued access was a glitch. I just thought Spyderco took over hosting and left all the permissions for the then-current editors intact, as Mr. Blonde and I were really the only ones updating the site in the later times before Spyderco took over, so I didn't notice a ...

Re: Stretch 2 XL Damascus Blue Nishijin sprint
It's entirely possible they missed the flaws in QC and it may be worth an exchange from wherever you bought it from. After the exchange, your flawed return would get returned to Spyderco, they would likely turn it into a factory second (marking it with a little notch on the spine), and somebody will ...

Re: 2023 Seconds sale! ..are you going?
What was the blemish on your Drunken? Pretty solid price!
All I can figure is that it's because of this weird, hazy finish on the blade. The rest of the knife is flawless as far as I can tell. Since it's a second and I want to carry and use it anyway, I don't really care about it having a ...
