Re: Reveal 6 Live!

I have no way of knowing how many have been made/sold but it's been in the lineup for over 10 years. I know I've seen a lot of people comment they have a Sage 1. So I imagine it has been a pretty good seller. That said, I figured it's probably run it's course and figured it would be on the disco'd ...

Re: Reveal 6 Live!

Some great knives in the reveal. But that sprint run PM2? Way too much going on. It looks like a graphics design intern vomited all over Photoshop. Definitely a contender for the title of ugliest Spyderco knife.

Re: Seconds Sale 2020

How severe are the flaws on these reject knives? I wouldn't mind a random accidental scratch on a discounted knife but I'd be irked to think I'm getting a bargain, only to become the proud owner of a knife that won't open, or one with a lock like a wet tea bag. They are generally cosmetic defects o...

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp

Now I’m all charged up by the Euroedge. What other two Schempps, ethnic or not, are must-haves? Large Persian is probably my favorite design of his. I wish we'd get another sprint run of the bolstered version. And while I really like the Kris design, I'd probably make my second pick a fixed blade. ...

Re: St. Nick's 4v pm2!

Not a fan of those silver liners. Would have really been killer with *all* black hardware. At least that's what I'm using to justify not getting one of these. ;)

Re: Spyderco History - Can you help?

Okay, just did a big data dump of all the pre-2006 catalogs and brochures (since you already have 2006 onward on the website) that I have PDFs of. I just gotta get one more shrunk down since it's 60MB. I assume once it shows "Media added successfully" that means it's uploaded and we don't need to su...

Re: Whatever happened to...

I'll have to look to see if I can recreate that page on the Spydiewiki. I'm not certain if the new Spydiewiki can host PDFs or not. Fortunately, I have everything from that link (minus the Byrd related ones) plus a couple older items not at that link saved. It would be a great resource if Spyderco w...

Re: Kirinite

While the very first version of the first EDC Forums glow knife looked more like Moon Glow (which glows pretty bright), all the subsequent EDC Forums must have been the Kirinite version (which doesn't hold a glow as long). I think Moon Glow and Kirinite are pretty much the same from a material stand...

Re: Are sprint runs too limited?

Is it time to look at numbers on the sprint runs and re-evaluate? Make enough so we can actually buy one without taking a week off work and hitting refresh all day on 18 browser tabs... Thanks for listening to me vent and sorry for the negative tone, I have tabs to refresh. I'm pretty sure in a rec...

Re: Rivers Edge Cutlery Mystery Exclusive (DLC 10V/Coyote Brown G10 Paramilitary 2)

These ones were in 10V steel. But your point stands - it's not as well known or hyped recently as k390, which is very similar as I understand it. I also think the last-minute announcement slowed sales a bit. Not as much chance to build the excitement. Still, they sold out in about 24 hours, so I'm ...

Re: Rivers Edge Cutlery Mystery Exclusive (DLC 10V/Coyote Brown G10 Paramilitary 2)

I would not call it complaining... Well, some of us would. I don't really see their approach to the sale as being the reason supplies lasted so long. Plenty of other sellers have limited to 1 or 2 per household, let it be known both satin/dlc versions would be coming, announced the sale ...

Re: What was the most recent exclusive Military?

When did the BBS blue/s90v military come out? It's still available on their website. I'm not sure when exactly that one came out but it's a pre-CGI example, so several years for sure. I have one and I like it a lot; it's my only S90V knife. July 2013. It had a minor CQI (stepped pivot with torx on ...

Re: Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Cutlery Shoppe has a dual colored (orange/olive drab) REX 45 Para 3 coming in a couple days. I gotta say, I like Jeff and all, but this is one ugly combo.

Now that I think about it, I don't know if I ever got mine. I suppose if I've gone this long without realizing it, I probably don't really need one.

Re: It’s all Bloke’s fault

I keep one of these (SE) in my checked travel bag, so it gets used whenever I travel. It's nice and small (good for places I don't know their knife laws - though my other travel knife is a Dragonfly, so plenty small as well) and cheap enough that if TSA decides to steal it out of my luggage, it's no...

Re: River's Edge PM2

Anyone remember how much the Pm3 was compared to the s30 model? Just wondering what the price will be on this one. Exactly not what I need a 7th pm2 haha but I really like it The REC version sold for $140. At that time, I think MSRP on the regular S30V version was $200 and in 2018 MAP was 35% off, ...

Re: BHQ Shaman Exclusive DLC/M4

Got mine today with regular free shipping. Everything looks good on mine: centered up when closed (though I don't find exact centering to be anything that bothers me); nice, even edge; blade swings open easily; and all the finishing seems nice and smooth.
