Another voice for the Santoku as allrounder kitchen knife, I use it on daily base and as longtime vegetarian only for vegetables and fruits, so I have no experiance with meat.

I'm not scottish but from time to time I wear a tactical duty kilt made by 5.11 when I'm out for hiking. It's good stuff, comfortable and has practical details.

Well Gernot, maybe Salzburg is too much tourist hot spot ... :D
Besides different stores in Vienna I know for example Linz (Pizzini) or Graz (Scala) and even in Tulln you can buy Spydies, but don't compare the prices!
