Delica - the everything knife

I've always like the Delica, it was my first high-performance knife. Over the years, I've come to rely on it as my fall back. Others seem to come and go but this one is always around. I have a few (mostly D4s) that get carried a lot.

I have an older D3 CE in the window sill in the garage that ...

I usually just put the Salt in the shower near the drain and let the shampoo make it silky smooth :) Quick rinse, then back in the pocket.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like there isn't a lot of interest. The SS Executive with VG-10 would be very cool thought...maybe someday.

Old school (SS Executive or Co-Pilot) sprint run?

I know this is a looong shot but wanted to ask.

Is there any chance that a sprint run of the Executive or Co-Pilot could be made with traditional stainless steel handles? Kind of like "back to the future" but these were true classics and the pinned construction is totally elegant!

Looks like there is interest! Using the Native3 handle is an option but I'd much prefer the original. My dad has carried a Native1 exclusively since it was released. He started with the G2 blade, wore it out, and I replaced it with a nice S30V! H1 would be the best!

Sal, any chance of a Native Salt?

I'd love to see one in my favorite steel...H1! It seems like a fairly easy development project since you can reuse the 1 piece FRN handle. It's also hollow ground :) I don't think it would overlap the Salt1 much because of the dramatic difference in blade shape. Just a thought. ft

I'd prefer:

1. One piece FRN - simple, strong, light
2. All pinned construction - simple, no adjustment required
3. No lanyard hole - personal preference
4. "Urban" clip position - true deep pocket carry
5. Keep the Boyle dent and swedge
6. Add jimping

Ultimately, I'd like to see the Dragonfly ...

I'm one of the guys who asked for the LBK Salt. It is an amazing knife. The H1 acts a lot like good old 1095 carbon steel except it's maintenance free. I have had one in my pocket for the entire summer including 5 days of surf casting. I put a long piece of paracord on it an wore it around my neck ...

Ladybug vs Baby Goddard

Does anyone have a size comparison picture of the Ladybug next to a Baby Goddard? I pre-ordered the BG and can't wait to get it in hand.

I really love the splinter picker tip of the old D3. I also think H1 is the most interesting current blade steel. I've often considered having the Salt 1 blade re-ground to the D3 profile.

Question for Sal and Co...has there ever been any discussion to offer the D3 blade shape in H1 steel? Kinda ...

I feel the D3 handle is "the" Spyderco icon. It's perfect and hope it lasts a long time in production. There is something simple and elegant about pinned FRN. Of all the knives in my collection, I rely on a black PE Salt 1 for most of my cutting.

Sal, how's the H1 Ladybug testing going?

A while ago you mentioned carrying a yellow H1 PE Ladybug. You said you were using it and sharpening it, etc. How's the testing so far? BTW, this is at the top of my "got to have" list.

The downturn in the economy is effecting everything. It looks like many folks are taking a "wait it out" approach. I have not purchased a single knife this year.

Regarding sales strategy, I was very surprised to see this year's price increases. Considering the flat inflation rate and the fact that ...
