Canada Customs woes - PLEASE HELP

I just bought a Spyderco D'Allera knife online, requested it to be shipped to Canada from the US. Canada Customs calls me and says it's been seized because they have determined it to be a prohibited weapon. They said that because they can open it with centrifical force by flicking it in a circular ...

D'Allara Rescue opinions

I'm looking at the D'Allara Rescue as a good strong knife. It looks tough and has an amazing lock and cutting edge. I don't see much out there for information on it, opinions, stories, etc..

Anybody out there got one? If so, what can you say about it?

Thanks :)

Toughest knife made ?

Seeking opinions of what knife you would say was most likely to survive a lifetime regardless of conditions, mishaps, abuse and neglect (not that anyone would intentionally do that). The Manix C95GPS looks virtually bullet proof to me. :)

Knife folklore

Has anyone heard of a bit of folklore that when a sharp gift is given, the friendship between the giver and receiver could be severed, that a lucky penny given with the gift secures a long and lasting relationship?

I'm not supersticious however I love learning the origins of such things. :)

Any ...

Anybody know what model this is?

This is my first Spyderco. I've had this little beauty for some time now but honestly haven't got a clue what model it is or anything much else about it. It's been a great little knife, measuring approx 7 3/4 inches open, has cut just about everything at one time or another and has been quite a ...

Tip up for me

I feel as though with tip up the knife comes straight out of the pocket and into my hand more naturally than tip down. Also, on most knives I've seen the pivot end of the knife when folded is slightly heavier than the the butt end and would logically want to help itself stay inside your pocket ...

Questions re: C-41 Native with stainless steel handle

I'm interested in getting my now adult sons a knife for a gift and would like to, but not have to, have them engraved. Both sons have had good success with Swiss Army knives, but I want something with more jam. This knife is going to be an heirloom so it has to last 'forever'. The knife I've chosen ...
