Just shows it pays to look hard at eBay. It is so easy to pass auctions like that over. I'm surprised the Q didn't kill and eat the other knives while in transit.

I forgot all about Murray Carter using it. I don't know that Murray really needs it anyway. My Murray Carter knives hold an edge like a drunk holds a bottle.

I think there is currently only one knife with that steel, a William-Henry. The steel is supposed to be hardenable to Rc 65 without getting overly brittle. Abrasion resistiance is supposed to be far beyond S30V. Is made by Hitachi and they keep the rest of the ingredience secret. Mr. Glesser ...

Just reread this again, and I guess the 440C isn't being heat treated here. Oh well I still stand by what I said. Except for the wrong part. :o

I will add though that if the heat treat is being done in this country, there is a lot more data and experience in heat treating 440C over VG-10. Not to imply that Spyderco doesn't know what to do with VG-10.

I have the old style sleeves and they work just as well on my 204 as they did on the 203. If it were me though I'd hold out for the new diamond rods, you'll get more diamond surface area.
