Re: NCAA Football 2023
For close to 40 years my extended family has always enjoyed watching The College football bowl season. (Step-father’s b-day Is the 31st) Well, last nights Cotton Bowl was AWFUL! This crap with the ‘transfer portal’ And “opt-out” has gotten out of control. It has dramatically hurt the “quality” Of th...

Re: The Spyderco CULT CLASSICS Survey
My local knife shop has a large Wegner folder made by Blade-Tech. It’s almost exactly the same size as the large Spyderco Wegner. It has an open back and seems to be couple ounces lighter too. I’ve had my eye on it for about 3 or 4 years but have never pulled The trigger…it’s too much like the Spyde...

That sure is a fine Benchmade!! Love that Bowie style blade.
I’m fortunate to have 2 different versions…a pre-production black
Aluminum model and a G10 real tree camo version.

Re: Spyderco liner locks
FWIW—I’ve been using Spyderco frame lock for over 20 years with
No failures. Medium usage,no abuse. On My large Wegner the lock
Travels all the way over. It’s a bit concerning.
BTW- the 1st Gayle Bradley has a liner lock on steroids. It’s a lot
Thicker than any other liner lock I’ve seen

Re: Any love for combo edges?
When I first started buying Spyderco knives 23 years ago I preferred The CE. I preferred it in knives that had blades that were 3.5 inches or longer. (I did get some smaller ones too) I did this because I wasn’t very good at sharpening them. My thinking Was that by using the serrated edge I was keep...

I’ve had a Walter Brend auto for about 15 years. Great action with
a 3inch blade. My wife has confiscated it and carries it in her purse.
She fumbles with all the different locks used in my collection. She says
“You just push the button to open/close”. I should probably get me another

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Picked up this very lightly used Benchmade 940-1 at my local knife Shop. I had the green handled (aluminum) clip point version I bought In December of 2002 for $70. The blade was partial serrated and I always Hated it. They really cut deep into the blade for the serrations. Never could get over it. ...

I’ve got 2 of Standards. They’ve got the clip stamped out from handle. One of the Standards was my late father-in-law’s (a rancher) is SE and well worn. It still is used by my wife who likes to garden. My father-in law gifted me the other around 1985. It is my 1st Spyderco. Started me out on this ho...
