I much prefer the grip of the Chaparral over the D'fly. With that being said I prefer the blade, size and looks of the D'fly so I tend to carry it more.

Got mine today. Pretty fast shipping to Canada. Gorgeous knife. I got the long clip too, but I always carry my knives clipless in an Ostrich leather mission wallet.

I'm with you Gary, I love the blade of the D'fly, but sometimes the handle is just a tad small. For me I accept the compromise, but there's another knife that I think has the perfect handle: the Navigator. I have the last sprint run from a few years ago. The handle on that knife isn't much bigger ...

The SS Caly Jr. was my first Spyderco. I bought it at LeBaron here in Ottawa in feb. 2001. I thought it was a beautiful knife. It was my daily EDC until 2004. I still have it, and it's my Go To knife when I'm in the woods. It's still looks as good as new, even though I dropped it in my lawn one ...

That's strange. I removed the clip on mine and I was able to tighten the screw all the way down. Both screws are flush with the scale and are very tight, no float.

I've been running for years with a small FRN Dragonfly. It's small and unobtrusive. It works well when you want to run light. It fits in the small pockets in most running belts (it fits in the front pocket of my Nathan). After 7 years it's got a few rust spots but nothing major. I'll have to fix ...

Personally, my dream knife would be a D'fly with carbon fibre scales. I'm not a fan of FRN or G10. The steel is secondary, Spyderco always uses good steels as far as I'm concerned.

Got mine from Howe's Knife Shop yesterday. Fit and finish is perfect, very smooth action, no grit or rubbing with the blade. Oddly enough though, some very minor rubbing with the lock bar spring when I unlock it. Very minor and not something that bothers me at all. Very nice knife :)

I Pre-ordered back in Feb after reading Paul's review. My first Spydie since 2007. That makes 6 in total.

I use a very simple trick when my knives are dull. I wrap sandpaper around the brown rods. I cut a strip of sandpaper just wide enough to wrap around, then I put some scotch tape along the backing of the sandpaper, wrap around and tape together. I can easily bring 6-7 knives back to life using all 3 ...

Wow! Impressive pair. My first EDC was the regular right-handed version of the SS model. I bought it almost exactly 10 years ago. It's still my go-to knife when I want to do serious cutting. It does an amazing job on brook trout :) .

I normally don't do this, but I couldn't resist anymore. Preordered. :D

That occurred to me as well. For a sharpener still on the up side of the learning curve (like me), a small blade really could be a good way to get proficient with ZDP-189.

Now, if it could only come with ZDP-189 and G-10.....

I think the base idea is great. I'd be interested in buying just about anything that Spyderco would make, as long as it's mildly useful.

With that being said, I agree with Jag-engr, there's already a company called Victorinox that makes some cool stuff.

We could say the same about Atwood-style ...
