[quote="gac"]But the blade looks pretty thick and the tip not great at piercing (mainly cardboard).[quote]

My ATR goes through cardboard well. As an EDC and utility knife an ATR is tops IMO.

My thoughts exactly! My third is in the mail right now. That rhino horn makes the tip of the knive much harder to break I think.

Take it to a jewelry store and have them clean the G10 with their ultrasonic cleaner. It will remove everything including any traces of lubracant in the pivot.

I wonder what will happen when the poor guy shows off his new "spyderco". Someone may even be cruel enough to point out the "China" stamp on the blade to him.

Something seems wrong...

Maybe its late at night and maybe I should be doing homework and maybe someone already saw this but something seems wrong on this evilbay auction... http://cgi.ebay.com/Spyderco-Military-C36GS-Professional-Folding-Knife_W0QQitemZ180238803654QQihZ008QQcategoryZ42577QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewIt...

I know someone who has payed nearly that for some cap guns ($250 each). I guess the value of everything is just what some collecter is willing to pay for it!

I seem to recall a few small dark spots on an vg10 impala after a hunting trip, but they wiped off easily.

I don't have a Manix, but I have an ATR I use every day now. Great knife, the handle feels good and the tip is not likely to break.

I like the d4 infinitely better than the d3. When I got my blue pe d4 it was going to share edc with my blue se d3, but I ended up selling the d3 soon after. In my hand the ergonomics of the d4 are unbeatable and I never really liked the fine tip on the d3 because it seemed like it would break easil...

If you check around on gun forums, there is a raging debate between mkII/mkIIIers and the browning buckmark fans. I got a buckmark because I liked it a little better when I held it, but its all personal preference :D . The best solution is to buy both (all) the guns you like :) 22lr is an amazing in...

Ha, again a chance to voice my opinion :D The one other knife I have used alot for skinning chores is the buck 103. If you look at them make sure to get the old version with the thick blade. With this knife you can separate leg and neck joints without any trouble or broken blades. Very useful! On th...

Hi Bruceter, I still remember thinking you needed a realy big knife to clean and skin deer :) . Nowdays it seems like any short bladed knife will work as long as it is reasonably sharp. I tend to use a fixed blade now because its just easier to clean up (a big consideration when working in 20 degree...

I think the street beat would work great for skinning. Since discovering spyderco I have used a spot and a impala to skin and field dress deer, and this year I used a vegabond to field dress two deer (without sharpening in between :-). The best thing about the vegabond is that it is fixed blade, but...
