Re: STIFF STIFF STIFF Chaparral

I have a Chaparral stiffy!

Mine was extremely difficult to open when I received it. I lubed it and then held the blade with a towel and started moving the handle back and forth, back an forth for probably several hundred openings and closings. It is now smooth and solid.

Do you have a name or part number for that Wiha set ?
I have 3x the Wiha screwdrivers -- short stubbies that hold the 6x different size T bits inside the handle.
I would like to get the set you have shown :-)
Thanks mate.

Re: MAP policy change? 35%

Not calling MAP pricing “price fixing” is like not calling multi-level marketing a “pyramid scheme”.

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

It would be nice if the newly designed Advocate can be easily identified by the buyer. I don't want another one of the initial design.

On Ebay, just because they are sold does not mean that they are paid for. There are MANY non-paying bidders these days on Ebay. There are also MANY unscrupulous sellers. Ebay does nothing to police their site.

Re: Para 3 Cruwear in stock..

Just say no to profiteering. Suppose that other knife retailers get the same idea. Then, on every sprint they increase the price $25-35 or even $50 more than the MAP price? Well, National did it and they still sold out, so why don't we all do it? The MAP price is already more than the competitive p...

Isn't it odd for National to sell it for $26 over the MAP price?
Odd, and I will remember it in the future. Like Cheaper Than Dirt, if you profiteer, then I will no longer do business with you.

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped

I gave up trying to find one at the MAP price. I just bought a Delica Peckerwood instead and I really like it. Still have the HAP40 blade and laminated wood instead of G10.

I really like mine. It is a beautiful and robust knife.

The one thing that I don't like is that it is not really very lefty friendly. I have figured out a way to get around that issue, though.

Re: New Model Dropped: Chaparral Raffir Noble

They do not, it is a little slippery but I don't think it'll be to much of a problem. One thing I've noticed is the acrylic seems to take surface scratches easy kind of like the back of my iPhone when I don't have a case on it. Isn't a deal breaker for me they are only noticeable if your looking fo...

I want one of these, but I am concerned that the handle appears to be slippery. I am wondering if the ribbons reach the surface to improve the grip??

What price do you think is "reasonable"?

I haven't seen one lately for less than $200 in like new condition.

Re: Sal, hope to hear from you

Well, my Advocate has been at Spyderco for 3 weeks and I still have not heard anything. I am wondering how long it will be before I see my knife again? I still think that the way to fix it is to mill a pocket in the scales and insert a stainless bearing race instead of using these thin washers. Now,...
