I'm also curious if anyone has opinions on the knives. Are they a good buy, or would you recommend I stick with Japanese knives? They are Japanese knives, aren't they? Spyderco doesn't exactly make a complete line up of kitchen knives anymore, so you might also want to check out Forschne...

I'd love to that same shot of the four knives...but this time with all of them closed. Even better would be two closed shots....one for each side.

I don't think you will be re-using much Deacon. The hammer with the Boye dent will be replaced by a dent-less example also of Damasteel and some neat file work. When you'r this far, the backstrap has to go to match the hammer. You end up with only the pivots and chances are that any knifemaker woul...

Who's going to be kind enough to pick some up and mail them to fellow members? I called and my local wal-mart didn't have them.

Anyone seen them at a wal-mart near San Francisco?

First, thank you everyone for responding to my question. Second, I got the knife. It's in many ways wonderful. Fit and finish is incredible. The blade is awesome looking. I can see why people like this knife! That said, I think my original question was badly worded. It turns out that perhaps some of...

Does paramilitary still open to easily...

So I've been reading old threads about the paramilitary, and it seems like a common gripe was that it tended to open to easily (not good when you reach your hand into your pocket).

Has Spyderco's cqi improved this? It's unclear from reading the past posts...
