An over travel stop is really unnecessary imo. In the 20 years the frame lock has existed, I have never seen any reports of anyone over extending a frame lock. Given the varying quality levels and ubiquity of the frame lock would think it is a nonissue.

My CF Chaparral that I purchased a few years ago has a stiff lock bar. Are the newer CF or FRN chaparrals still stiff?

I also noticed it, definitely had a round or slightly oval hole. It did not look like any spyderco I had ever seen before, I think the closest model was perhaps a Lionspy. Seemed like a liner lock to me. Quality of the knife didnt look very good.

Cliff, great stuff. In the chart summary where the steels are combined, are the "damaged steels" part of the summary? For example, is the sure fire delta and rsk part of the s30v summary? Do we know the actual hardness of these two damaged steels?

What angle did you sharpen the Native at on your Edge Pro? Did you remove a lot of material? Did you have a heavy burr while sharpening it? You should not need a super polished edge to prevent chipping on S30v. I think the issue is rather, if you have a very coarse edge you may experience chipping ...

Here's a post I posted over at bladeforums. The point of the post being to not judge s30v or any steel for that matter by its factory edge. I bet the majority of negative s30v posts were from people judging the steel by its factory edge.

The UKPK also has full screw construction, although I still prefer the Caly 3 due to the UKPK's lack of a lock.

Sal, I would like to thank you again for producing the perfect edc for me! I have no doubts this knife will be a success and me buying 2 of them would certainly help in that! By the way, I have never bought two of any knife except for an extra regular small sebenza, so that should say something.
