the new line up is impressive. I was planning to try out the FRN manix 2 but the Des Horn knife looks amazing. I also think I might get a SS balance, dragonfly 2, and the pukko (puuko? pukoo? pukuko?)

Suicide, bullying, death penalty, drug overdose, destruction, etc are not problems. They are the last of a sequence of events set in motion by some problem, usually years in the past and related to bad attitude and lack of wisdom.

oh cool! I dont understand why swiss army knives tend to have the screwdriver next to the corkscrew. makes so much more sense to have it extend lengthwise rather than out the side.

I used to have a BK7 (a big version of companion) . Overkill for me so I sold it. This is what i remember:
-thick wide blade
-simple design, felt durable
-handle was average. decent shape but no texture, could get slippery
-good value

so...its not a fancy knife and would probably benefit from ...

well...how about a sharpening stone :p

I have one of those blue and red two sided folding diamond sharpeners in my car utility bag. Takes little space and doesnt need oil or water and works fine for basic sharpening. I dont have a plan for repairing a seriously fubared knife. If I lose my sharpener ...

ive been edcing a d2 millie since it came out. sold all my other folders since then (well...i still have some sak's :D )

I have been using a military as my jeans knife for the following reasons:
-best weight to size ratio
-relatively thin
-open back means i can blow out the dust that accumulates. i had a bunch of lock backs before the millie and the dust was very annoying to me

I went through the whole collecting thing though. Had ~25 total

I don't pay attention to the blade steel. In fact, I don't even pay attention to the blade. I just look at the tools and carry a separate, full sized knife (millie).

I have a victorinox spirit and swisstool. The spirit is excellent IMO.
