I have a meadowlark 2 FRN and Delica 4 FFG that I use extensively. Both have developed a decent amount of vertical play after a lot of hard use, but they haven't gotten any worse and still lock up solid and safe. I should also add that I have all 3 variations of the meadowlark 2, and have noticed th...

I have to agree with Paul as well. We all know Spyderco is a pretty ethical company to do business with. I would hope most if its customers were the same.

I did a scale swap on my D4 ffg, and I taped the blade in the open position and installed the lock bar last. Didn't have much of a problem doing it that way and I'm pleased with the result. I have to agree with you about the parts kit. I wish spyderco would offer parts kits for their more common mod...

I'd ask this "friend " If I could borrow his expensive smart-phone (which I'm assuming most everyone has these days.) I would then proceed to hammer in a nail with it. That would level the playing field.

I have a fixer-upper house, 3 kids, 2 cars, 2 cellphones and student loan repayments. A $100 dollar knife is pretty expensive in my opinion. Even if I made a lot of money, I would still consider spending that much on a knife to be exorbitant. I guess not having a lot of money makes me realize the va...

Unfortunately, a lot of the spyderco designs don't interest me that much, also I don't seem attracted to their higher end stuff either. Having said that, the FRN and stainless models are among my favorites, and at the price point I usually decide to purchase multiples of the ones I like. I have 3 sa...

Take a marker and mark the edge again on both sides. Take a finer grit stone and lightly go over the edge with it. If you've gone far enough, a few passes with the finer stone should remove the marker from the entire edge. Then you know you've gone far enough. Be sure to check at the base of the edge...

Is that the factory edge you are trying to sharpen? If so,I would just create a new bevel to match whatever angle you want (18 deg), then the next time you sharpen it, it will be easier since you already have the edge angle established. My D4 ffg was like this when I first had to sharpen it after th...

I love my squeak too. You actually have to press down on the closed blade a reasonable distance to make it contact the backspring, which only blunts the very tip. IMO the spring on the UKPK and squeak feel the same, the UKPK just seems weaker due to the longer blade (and leverage of the longer blade...

Looks like about 1/32 of an inch to me on the tip. If you're going to carry and use it, the discolored area will be gone in about 1-2 sharpenings. I would be more concerned with the lock-up, and it seems like it's good in that respect. If you are really dissapointed, I'm sure you could sell it as is...

Black all the way for me.(it's my favorite absence of color!) I have passed on SEVERAL spyderco models because the handle color wasn't the standard black. Let's face it, Spyderco's aren't usually cheap, and I'm not going to spend good money on a knife with a handle color i detest. Having said that,I...

Mine does the same thing too, but just at the very tip. You really have to press the blade in quite a ways to contact the backspring. I don't even see how it could blunt the tip with just normal closing either. It is a great knife though and for a lightweight it's actually pretty hefty. I was concer...
