Bob's random thoughts: I'd be in for pre-order. Mules should be Factory Direct. Surely this Forum should be able to gauge interest for each particular steel being considered. SPY27 is in great demand because it's Spyderco's own improvement to their workhorse VG-10. Could probably Re-run any earlier ...

Perhaps they just don't have the whole batch ready to ship and put the brakes on orders till more are ready. If the whole run is out in less than 2 hours, they should do another double batch!

I sure hope more than 600 are made in these new steels or perhaps a second run if sold out quickly. Surely Forum feedback could guage demand. $50 for SPY27 is a great deal!
I can't remember my priciest Mule, but most were more than that.

You have no idea if it's pandemic related or not. Most, if not, every other Blade in the same Reveal has been released. It "could" also be heat treat or grinding issues or steel QC or....
