Hi bell,

That may work and would certainly save a whole heap of cash. However I have heard that the British Customs are pretty hot on you paying import tax on stuff from the USA. I guess though if it were a smallish single package and was a "gift" from a friend this might work.

I may have to take ...

Thanks for the replies. The grey handle looks a good bet, but I understand it will not be the same blade steel as the original?
Also being in the UK I wonder if we will actually see any of these?

Lost Calypso Jnr Ltwt

Help guys! I have lost my Calypso Jnr Ltwt. I loved that knife and it travelled every where with me. I did a lot of research before originally purchasing it and the combination of blade length (under 3&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>, handle, weight and blade steel ...

01 Tool Steel

I'm a Spydie fan from the UK and own several Spyderco knives, including Calypso jnr, Native and Dragonflies.

I was at a Wood Fair in the UK where I met a local guy who is making custom knives. They were absolutely beautifully crafted, but he uses 01 tool steel exclusively.I know nothing about this ...

California Spyderco outlets

I am a UK Spyderco fan, but the prices are very high here compared to the USA. My sister is coming out to the States in a weeks time and I would like her to pick up a couple of new Spydies for me. She will be travelling in California.

Can anyone recommend a good store, with reasonable prices in the ...

I agree - a cordura sheath with the option to carry horizontally or vertically.
But please make sure that it is made available to us poor people in the UK who don't have the fantastic choices of Spydercos available to you US nuts, and have to pay silly prices for them!

dennis,

I think if I remember correctly from the book, which I read early last year, that he used the Harpy for an upward slice from the pelvic area to the lower ribs. Gruesome! I think he also used a Civilian model later in the book for skinning.

StevieK,
How do you find the Sharpmaker? I am pretty crappy at sharpening on a stone or using my Lansky system, but am improving slowly. I don't even want to touch my Calypso Jnt Ltwt blade as the VG10 out of the box was and still is the sharpest blade I have ever used! Is it the Sharpmaker 204 and ...

Hi,
Nice to have a UK Spyderco nut posting on the Forum. I too have struggled to find someone who supplies a good range in the UK. I drool over the Syderco catalogue only to find that no - one can supply the particular model I want. I obtained my Calypso Jnr Ltwt from Heinnie Haynes via the phone ...

Native Gin Steel?

I have been offered a Native with part serrated adge, at a very good price by a local dealer. However there is a marking on the blade that says Gin 10. I thought Natives were either CPM 440V or AUS 10. It has the black handle similar to my Calypso Jnr LTWT. What is the steel like? Is it a good buy ...

Clay, I agree whole heartedly with your sentiments. I have only been a Spyderco owner for 3 weeks, but have been emailed 2 or 3 times in that period , by Patti with answers to my queries - excellent service.

Also I have trawled the archives of various forums for Spyderco information and Sal's input ...

What steel is best for whittling?

I intend to start doing some whittling over the Christmas break. What is the best steel in terms of edge holding? I need it to be in a folder not a fixed blade. I would value edge holding, rather than hair splitting sharpness, as I am not particularly good at the act of sharpening and spend more ...

New spyderco owner

Here is something I posted on the blade forums site, so apologies to those of you who have seen it already. I have only just found this forum and registered:

"I have just bought my first Spyderco Knife, a Calypso Jnr LTWT and it's brilliant. What is the correct angle to sharpen at using a Lansky ...
