Unfortunately for health reasons I won't be going to the camp. It's the first one I've missed since 2005 but my consolation is going to the MBC training in Virginia Beach in November.

Enjoy Uli! I'm sure you'll have a great time. It's a wonderful opportunity to train with Mike J., his crew in Colorado and some of the other instructors/practitioners from across the country. Beyond that the Rockies are awesome.

One of the great things about these seminars, in addition to the training experience, is having the opportunity during breaks and at meals to chat with other attendees. We had a broad mix, from students, doctors, lawyers, federal, state and local law enforcement, martial artist from many disciplines...

I just return from the Virginia Beach Martial Blade Concepts seminar hosted by Michael Janich (MBC founder and head instructor). The seminar was held at the Ramada Inn located right by the Virginia Beach boardwalk (picture from my hotel room). http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt21/OGMustang2008/Vi...

Who is going to the Martial Blade Concepts Seminar in Virginia Beach?

This will be my first trip to the MBC training in Virginia Beach and the first time back to the area since being stationed at Ft. Story during my time in the Army.

Who else is going?

Martial Blade Camp 2012

I just return from the 2012 Martial Blade Camp and wanted to offer up the following brief summary for those that might be interested: An additional thousand feet in altitude seemed to make a difference. That was the additional thousand feet or so that separated the elevation at Estes Park YMCA, the ...

I made a list for my wife of the knives I have and what there approximate resale value should be. I don't want her getting low balled and giving the stuff away when I'm gone :) .

Knives are rather poor implements with which to defend one's self. So are handguns... but they fare somewhat better than 3 inch long pointy bits of metal in most cases. If I was defending against an attacker that had a knife, another contact weapon or someone that had a relatively large advantage w...
