Renegade Question/Problem ?

I just recieved my Renegade today and though I really like the design the knife is tight as ****. I put some Tuff-Glide on it and worked it in but it really didn't help. I loosened the screw but it was still hard to open. I compared it to my other Spyderco lockbacks and they opened much easier. Is t...

Spyderco custom mod's

I just got back my Military that I sent out to have a tritium vial placed in it. The vial was placed in the backspacer then three holes were drilled thru the G-10 so it is visible from three sides. It was done by NC Blades who does fantastic work with quick turn-around time. I am thinking of adding ...

Check out this months issue of Maxxium magazine for a short review of the Spyderwrench. There is also a lot of other "eyecandy" to keep you interested.

I had a Standard and thought it was a great little utility knife. Sturdy, compact and sharp.I ave seen them fairly cheap on EBAY from time to time. I would like to see them produced agian maybe in colors and with the David Boye detent ! As far as I know they were produced round 1989 or so.

If I had to choose just one mine would have to be my plain edge Military. A great all around user.

Thanks for the Link.

I liked the serrated Merlin because it is ambidexterous. I recently replaced it with a Matriarch (love it) but really like G-10
How difficult would it be to have the Harpy taped for lefty carry? Has anyone done it ??

The Harpy was made in SS and G-10 material.
I do not think it is made in G-10 anymore ???? The Zytel model is called the Merlin.

I've been looking for one in G-10 myself.

1) Easily accesible (carry position) 2) Dependable Lock 3) Ambidexterious 4) Ergonomic 5) Useful Blade design I feel that a MBC bladecraft piece should have thoose qualities first then the features could be choosen sort of the form follows function line of thinking. One of the most important feature...

My first Spyderco was a 50/50 old style (plastic clip) Endura. Now I own several versions and love them. I would recomend the new Endura (2001) in 50/50. A good place to look is EBAY especially for the NIB older models still floating aound. If the Endura is too big try the Delica or the Native. Yo c...

On duty I carry a serrated merlin in my waistband and a military in my back pocket. I sometimes used to carry my rescue instead of the merlin.
Off duty my military is one of my favorites
with the wegner a close second.
Jogging a old model endura clipped to my shorts

I've found Avgas (it dissipates easily) and compressed air great for cleaning followed by Tuff-Glide and a Marine use Tuff-Cloth. I carry an older model Endura with me jogging here in Florida and I have yet to have a spec of rust on it.

Question on CPM 440V

My Wegner sharpens up razor sharp,my Endura and Lum the same,However I cannot get my Military to shave hair even after using the sharpmaker? Is CPM 440V harder to sharpen or is a problem of edge geometry (ie flat grind)
