Centofante 3

It occurs to me that I better put the words Centofante III in this thread so it can actually be found in the future. Cheers.

My new C3 > merry Christmas to me!

GSD snoot smudge notwithstanding, it's sharpppp and I can't feel any play in the pivot/lock. This will be my EDC for a while to come. Got it from NGK and if I remember correctly the shopping cart said they had one (!) left in stock.

Future of the linerless lightweights

I admit it.

My last Delica (not my last Spyderco) was one with the molded pocket clip (G2 steel?). With the exception of an ever so slightly bent tip it's still in great shape although I don't carry it anymore.

But I've got a green fully serrated one on the way to correct that lapse :D

A little ...

I'm familiar with the bronze discoloration due to the laser. I saw it for the first time last year on a passaround Military.

That's not what this is.

I'll try to get it to show up in a photo. I wish I had a macro lens :(

I got my Ocelot yesterday

I love it! It's the perfect size for me, the G10 has amazing grip, and the blade takes up every millimeter of room inside the handle. I also like the overall thinness.

Two questions:

1. Do the knives leave the factory "dry?" I could see no indication of any lubricant anywhere. I put a drop of ...

Dang it.

I like the tip geometry and the uniform thickness of the blade almost down to the tip.

Blade on Salt I

Are there any other FRN models with this blade in either VG-10 or S30V? I like the robustness of it.

Bought two knives in the last week...

but it's been at least ten years since my last Spyderco.

A Meerkat arrived today (it's a gift for someone else though - dang it) and next week my Native III should be here.

I went with the N3 over the regular Native because:

a) it's cheaper - we have vacation coming up
b) I want to try the wire ...

Thickness, Native vs. Native III

The N3 handle looks a little thicker than the Native. Is it? This is one measurement that you can't glean from the specs and photos here.

Are there any other differences besides the blade steel and clip?

I can see why blades would be black on tactical knives. I also understand why tool steel blades would be coated - corrosion protection.

But why other knives? A "coolness" factor?

1st post!

A Native hopefully this week. My last Spyderco was about 10 years ago, a Delica. Ever so slightly bent tip but otherwise still great.
