Damocles, Have you ever tried a spray lubricant? I've had great results with CRC 3-36 http://www.crcind.com.au/catalogue.nsf/web_brands/CRC+3-36?openDocument Rinse your gear and spray on a liberal amount of CRC 3-36, I mean really hose it- Especially the spring and pivot on a folder- and let it dry....

I'd like to see a second run. I missed out on the existing run due to work committments. That's life. I'll hunt one down eventually. Past forum runs have proven to be a big cash drain for Spyderco. I'm happy to see that this one was so successful that this thread even exists. My thanks and appreciat...

Glow in the dark of course! :D

Re: Clear/translucent FRN- If I remember correctly, the reason that this isnt' feasible is because the only way to make the polymer clear or translucent is to eliminate the fiberglass. (The "F" in "FRN")

I dig the earth color and the turquiose too!

Lot's of cool new knives. Many of which are definitely going to be produced.

For those craving pics, there was a sign on the case clearly asking that photos not be taken. So we'll have to wait... :D

Just ordered one at $96 from thebladeshop.com, to be shipped directly to the sheath-maker. The gentleman at thebladeshop was great to talk to: so far, I can recommend them well (but I'll get back to that when the transaction is complete). Can you still recommend TheBladeShop? I ordered three Spyder...

I've been carrying a Spyderco Police Model on duty every day since 1988 or so. It's appeal to me is the slim profile, the long blade, the full serrations and the fact that I can open it one-handed in several different ways. It's better than a baton for breaking car windows. (Batons rarely work on si...

As to the feasibility of a UKPK trainer from a corporate standpoint, I can't say that I see the practicality. That said though, I have to respectfully disagree that it a trainer for these models is counterproductive. Every knife I carry, whether fixed or folder, I carry with the knowledge that I may...

Well, I live in Lowell- I'm sorry to tell you there's nothing close that I'm aware of. If you're going to be around on March 30 (Sunday) there is a one-day show in Marlboro, Ma. which is about 25 minutes from Lowell. That is about as good as it gets within a reasonable distance from Lowell unless so...

I like the idea of using the orange Ladybug. Here's my rationale: 1) It will be limited production anyway and won't require Spyderco to make a go-zillion just for the forum. 2) ANY forumite should be able to afford one. 3) It should be legal pretty much anywhere. 4) Orange is just plain cool!! :D

Not discontinued, but I carry a Police circa 1985 at work. The only damage is that the tip is a bit discolored from a caustic drug field test. (I'm LEO) It's still every bit as tight as when I bought it. ('Course I don't use it as a pry bar!)

No, we have no idea what the officers felt . We only know what the OP said they did . Actually, I do have an idea what the officers 'felt.' Let me choose a bigger word. The officers 'determined' that there was a violation. I can back this up: The officers seized the knife and issued a summons. Poli...
