That whole "Folders Fantastic" special issue did not do true justice to Spyderco. In the article on "The Top Ten Folders of All Time,"
only one "expert" mentioned Spyderco. I find that incredible when one considers the degree of Spydercos influence on current designs.

This is a joke, right? Any steel will rust and any knife left "soaking" in water will rust. If you want a knife that won't rust in water, you should get a ceramic, talonite, or titanium blade knife.

The Military is not 4 1/8" long. That is the length of the Police model. The Military blade is under 4".

Moose, as I said earlier, I don't know you. If you say that you were justified in pulling a knife, I will take your word for it. It just seemed to me that you were nonchalant about the legal consequences of using a knife in a confrontation. I'm not against using knives or other weapons in self defen...

Moose, I don't know you, but I think that you should check your attitude a bit. You seem very non-chalant about having been arrested for a very serious felony. Pulling a knife on someone is not a casual thing. Legally, it is no different from pulling a gun on someone. Unless that it is very clear th...

Absolutely one of the best Spydercos you can buy. It really fills up your hand and the point is very strong. The 440V hold and edge just fine and it is one of the smoothest lockbacks ever made.

This sounds like a wonderful concept and I would like to see it come into production as soon as possible. I like the idea of a wide handle and blade because a wide grip will make a shorter knife more comfortable for people with larger hands. A wide blade will also be more useful. Be careful not to m...

Mpclb, I have had people make stupid remarks about my Co-Pilot and it is less than 2". Some people just have knife phobia and are leery of people who carry knives. My response is to carry medium or small knives at work (I am a university professor), and I only take them out when I need to use t...

I really don't care wgich lock is used as long as it is good. That said, Spyderco makes great lockbacks. They prove that the old technology is still competitive. Just look at the Chinook or Native. The new Ayoob has a great lock also from what I can tell checking it out in the store.

If you are worried about sheeple, all of the knives you mentioned are a bit big. Generally speaking, if you don't want to scare folks, stick close to 3" or less. Have you considered the Calypso lightweight jr. or Delica? The new Lum Chinese is my personal new favorite. The new Vesuvius will pro...

If can be so bold as to speak for Sal, I have read on other forums that he will not produce autos because they are illegal in the state of Colorado. I also don't believe that he is interested in the headaches of making an effort enforce the whole authorized persons only thing that goes with autos. I...

A bit of friction sounds normal to me. You should defintitely lubricate the knife with regular oil or something special like White Lighting.

Sal, I would like to see the clip on the Gunting placed near the top of the handle and slightly to the left. That would leave the screw open to adjustment without removing the clip. The other alternative would be installing a clip likt that on the Chinook, Military, or Starmate. That way this utilit...

I don't know if it would qualify as a "city knife" but the Gunting could serve as the foundation of a very comfortable short bladed knife. I would like to see a knife with the same length as the Gunting (27/8&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> or maybe 2...

Weight is more important to me than thickness when it comes to knife carry. I like thin knives but my favorites are thick enough to fill my hand. The Native is a great example of this. I like its feel better than either the Delica or Calypso. The profile of the Native works well G-10 and Zytel. The ...

Get 440V if you can. It is a superior steel. I don't know what Native prices are like but $53 for GIN-1 in the US is overpriced now that 440V is available.
