If you can find the homemaker buy it. I bought one and then got a second one for the eventual replacement. Sal, forget the yin and yang and bring back the homemaker. Or at the very least don't do the two different colored handles. Every time I suggest these to my wife she always asks if I can get th...

Native and Military. I had an older mili and never could take to the lone liner only. For that size knife I didn't like the handle flex. The guy I traded it to was ecstatic though so to each his own.

Ex Navy, airline pilot. Fulltime fan of my Krein regrind D4 ZDP189. Not usually a big steel snob, but this ZDP rocks. Sorry, back on topic.

For what you describe, UKPK if you like slipjoints, Caly3 if you want a lock. Very discreet, enough blade for most tasks, FFG cuts like a demon, low riding wire clip is the best clip I have ever used. For a 3 inch blade, I can't imagine anything else doing any better than these two.

Spyderco is the most user oriented and directed knife company I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Thanks for the contest.

Thanks, I have three of them and I can't tell. Most of my knives you can catch a glint of bronze but nothing on these and I don't want to take them apart.

I agree. Someone in another thread was mildly trashing the sprint run of G10 rookies as "outdated" and I was thinking about these two knives as just as outdated. The UKPK and Caly3 feel much better in hand. The saber grind is like a Busse. Way too thick, especially for a 3 inch folder. The...

Two for me. The free shipping pushed me over the edge. I am dying to try one out. No one seems to like them but I have never owned a spydie that I totally didn't like. They all have something on the beneficial side.

What are these warnings of which you speak? I read someone mention not letting it near a cellphone. Is this true, where can I read the warnings? I have searched fro info but can't find any. Now I am really curious to get this knife in hand and check it out. It seems like no one actually likes it, bu...

I just picked up this knife also. Never heard of it. What is the background info on this cell phone stuff. Anybody actually use this knife and like it? I only bought it because of the cheap price, so please don't anybody try to sell me on it because its too late I already bought it! I just want to f...

Two questions. I love convex edges. Easy to maintain, easy to get razor sharp. That fat saber grind could be a sharp convex or v grind and it still wouldn't slice that apple well. I don't understand the grind on what is to me a pocket knife, not survival tool or carpentry tool. I want my knives to c...

This thread made me go find my Jess Horn Lightweight. I stropped it, very sharp, cut some stuff and jammed it into my pocket. I used to love this knife. I still do but I recognize its shortcomings and it will never hang out as much as it used to with me.

Thanks guys, I found it and followed the new steps. No problems and got together within 5 minutes with no fuss. Caused a slight deformation of one of the plastic pins using the first method but I don't think it caused any harm. Thanks again.

I redid my D4 using this method. Way easier to get back together, no damage. The first time I used the old method and luckily didn't do any real damage, one of the plastic pins got slightly deformed but not enough to cause any real concern. Thanks again for this improved method.

Wonderful tutorial. I will say though that what a previous poster stated about the backspacer deforming under pressure is absolutely true. I found that although it is supported above and below, the lower plastic "pin" when subjected to the pressure of the spring (its not that much btw) def...
