Also, I thought you void the warranty for modding or customizing a knife.

Re: Shaman Sprint ?????

CF/S90V here. Whether it fits the knife or not, it's my preferred handle material and steel. That said, CF/S90V would probably put the price close to $300.

Re: S30V Only Cool if it's a Benchmade?

Yeah, definitely spoiled. And I'm guilty of this. S30V would be just fine for me on a daily basis but for the sole reason that Spyderco offers so many steel variations, I've become this steel snob that looks down on S30V. I'm not complaining but it's a thing.

I like FRN better than FRCP.

Re: Amalgam blade centering

I found a trick that puts it mostly back centered, if you loosen the scale screws on the side the blade favors and the torque the entire knife by pressing the middle with one end off the table you should see the blade shift to the opposite side it favors, while holding in that position tighten the ...

Is it pinned or can this knife be disassembled?

Re: Amalgam blade centering

Mine has the same issue. If I loosen the middle handle screw it centers up but it leaves a gap between the stand off and the scale. I just learned to deal with the blade not being centered. As long as it's not touching the scales.

Re: $300 Taiwan Spyderco?

If you think the Subvert is pricey (it is) take a look at the Paysan. https://www.knifecenter.com/item/SP238TIP/spyderco-c238tip-rassenti-paysan-folding-knife-s90v-stonewashed-plain-blade-integral-titanium-handle Holy moly. I was expecting the market value be around $400. Sheesh! Sad thing is, if I...

Re: Let's get hyped for the Amalgam!

Thanks Brown_Recluse! A tip on swinging the blade closed - I just quickly fully depress the compression lock and immediately release the lock tab while simultaenously giving my wrist just the sliiiightest flick. Some pitfalls to avoid - 1) if you don't fully depress the lock tab, then the blade can...

Re: Let's get hyped for the Amalgam!

I got mine today too. Wow! It's just as glorious as I thought it would be. Contrary to some accounts, the detent on mine isn't unacceptably loose. Yes, I can shake the blade out but it takes an abnormal amount of effort. The only thing that kinda bugs me is the flipper tab going right through the co...

Re: Let's get hyped for the Amalgam!

I'm interested to hear what keithkevinken thinks. He seems to have quite a few knives pass through his hands. Looking forward to seeing these drop in the US, should be really soon now (edit: just saw Extra's post about DLT, looks like they're available now!). Can't wait to read the feedback (for be...

The 4 knives released to CC members this week were the Rex45 Military, the two Cutlery Shoppe Para 3 exclusives and the Amalgam.
I thought that CC members got knives before John Q. Public. The Red 45 Millie has been out for a couple weeks at least.

Re: Let's get hyped for the Amalgam!

I figured it would be soon. Keith Kevin Ken said he was getting 2 brand new knives this week and I know the Techno 2 is about to drop as well. He said one was a spring so I'm thinking CS exclusives and Rex 45 millie, not sure what the 4th will be but I think I saw the amalgam at a UK retailer or so...
