Re: New Proposed Model - Spyderco Antilles

Solid design! Liner-less for me, but I’d take this over a standard lil native. I love the color and steel choice

Re: What is this on the new Spydiechef lock bar?

+1 mine has not gotten better over the past month or two. I use it a lot, and play with it a lot in order to “break it in” but I think I’ll give up so as to not wear down the finish on the titanium. Nothing like my other titanium RIL fitted knives, though most have a steel insert on the lock face. W...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I recently got a Techno 2 and haven’t been able to put it down. My wife likes it too! So much so that she about took it, which is surprising to me. I offered her my “purple” (ordered blue, got lavender)Kizer sheepdog instead, and she prefers it due to the flipper tab. *PHEW* Now I’m itching for the ...

I see, it is my first time ordering from them. That’s good! I just wish they were a tad cheaper.

Yeah, they say “we don’t have a date, but it’s very very soon, so start saving your pennies.”

Something I found out recently: Spyderco made a CBN “Duckfoot” sharpener under the Byrd name. They’re discontinued but you can still find them available if you look around online.

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

Hmmmm another factory bevel issue, this time on a $400 + Spyderco. With other fit and finish issues you have mentioned, I’m surprised at the price point. They need to get on that! My Southard was pretty bad, too. One side had spots nearing 30 degrees, while others were closer to 15 or less. Luckily ...

Re: S110v Shaman in the future?

Hi JustinB, Welcome to our forum. Most Anything is possible. I believe the are a couple of new Shaman's in-the-works. (including ther BHQ model). sal If there are still issues with the Micarta scales i'd be more than ok with a G10 Shaman with Cruwear. Especially DLC. A DLC Rex45 with Burnt Orange G...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

Lol, it is nice to see we can save some money, though. These non-percentage discounts are nice for the cheaper things like deep carry clips/oil/sharpening supplies.

Thanks for the heads up Doeswhateveraspidercan :)

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Got one of these on the way, 52100 CF. Will be my second Spyderco and my first PM2. Really curious how I'm gonna like it... You can’t go wrong with that sprint! Unless you need it for river/lake/ocean use. I really enjoy mine, and have always wanted to swap in a DLC coated blade, and black hardware...

Re: Today Was Sharpening Day

Like some others mentioned, every day is sharpening day for me. Some days I don’t, but I like to keep every edge in the house nice and sharp. I even find myself sharpening knives that don’t quite need it, and tend to really enjoy it. Sharpening has always intrigued me, but I never got into it until ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I’m very late to the party, but I can’t put down the SpydieChef! Mine was a little bit lacking in the sharp department. I’ve had these two with me most of the day. Vivi reminded me about the light touch/alternating sides while touching up an edge, and I have given the method a go on these two knives...

Re: A sudden itch for V-Toku2

I used to work in one, but didn’t sharpen My Kershaw the entire time I was there! I totally get it, getting after people for not sharing their experience. Some of us however, just don’t have as much of a need for a knife. I always have one on me, but have to normally look for things to cut with it. ...

Re: A sudden itch for V-Toku2

I wish I still worked in a warehouse as you do, would be nice to put steels to use. I have profiled edges on my stretch 2 and Dragonfly, and found the steel easy to work with. Fun/easy to patina, and gets seemingly very sharp compared to the small number of steels I’ve sharpened. I hesitate to say “...

Re: Am i just lucky with my super steels?

I have worked a little bit with M390/204P, XHP, H1, and a lot with VG10 and Vtoku-2. I can see why people might say one steel is harder to sharpen than another, but I’ve always felt the way you do on the subject. I’ve seen way too many people complain about sharpening these steels, or just say they’...
