Re: Rex45=Hap40?

According to Spyderco’s steel comparison chart ( https://www.spyderco.com/edge-u-cation/steel-chart/ ), they do seem to have very similar chemistry in terms of carbon, chromium, cobalt, molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium. REX45 seems to have manganese, silicon, and sulfur, which are not included in...

Rex45=Hap40?

So I was looking at the GPK page and in the product description for the manix 2 lw they put REX45 (Hitachi HAP40). I checked zknives to see if they crosslisted the two steels and they do, showing REX45 as a proprietary equivalent of HAP40.

Is this correct?

Re: DLC 20CV PM2?

Got mine, slowed way down during checkout but it made it through. There was simply no way I could pass up primo steel and store exclusive at that price. It is cheaper than the s30 version on some sites.

Re: St. Nick's Knives Exclusive Para 3

Slapped some 52100 at 60 hrc on a 36 grit belt to compare to 4v at 67hrc. I dipped them both in tap water and watched the fun. Looks like I'm wrong, the 4v is not as reactive as 52100 In 5 min the 52100 start reacting. The 4v had less reaction. Still, I'd be more watchful with 4v then other tool st...

Re: CPM Rex 45 Para 2 !!

The difficulty in getting this has been crazy. Either the demand is outstripping the amount or a limited number was shipped. Sal, is there any chance that more will be made?
