I had one very small spot of surface rust right over the "Golden Colorado" stamp on my PM2, no idea why & haven't had any problems since.

I second the vote for a Manix 2 in Rex 45 !

I tend to like high carbon and semi-stainless tool steels like M4, Rex 45, 52100, etc... 52100 takes a keen edge like none I've seen.

PM2 REX 45 Today.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Can't be sure without seeing in person, but it looks to me like some of the rusted areas are pitted. If I had to guess, I would say this is going to occur again. Like you, I am surprised that it happened in the first place. Anxious to hear what others have to say.

Thanks for all the replays, as of today the knife seems ok, no more magnetic pull. No idea what caused it or what made it go away ? Maybe it's haunted, LOL.

The dye job looks great. I've been thinking about trying it on natural G-10. I'd to get to an olive drab or brown. How durable is it ?
