Re: If you could resurrect one discontinued model what would it be?

I'd probably go with the Slysz Bowie. I've been wanting one for a while but $350 is ridiculous for a used one. Maybe I'll just grab a SpydieChef instead :spyder:

Re: Spyderco knife rotation? How many?

I most often find myself carrying a Lil' Native or Para 3, but I just got a deep carry clip for my Domino so that will probably make the rotation too.

Re: Pivot screw on Para 3 immobile

The cheap Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot bit kits won't cut it. You'll either strip the screw or the bit itself. I learned this the hard way. Edit: I use Wiha bits and drivers. Never had one strip or break. They're the best IMO. Yeah that's the most important part, it might seem superfluous, but good...

Re: Do you modify the edge angles on your knives?

I usually aim for 20-22° per side. I can still whittle a hair but and also get pretty good edge retention, although that's with s30v for the most part. I'm sure something like M4 might handle a more acute angle better.

Re: Mantra Bearing Race

Are these the same bearings as the Domino? Because my Domino has always been smooth, seems like a lot of the issues with these flippers stem from distorted washers.

Deep carry for me. Knives are just tools, but some folks think otherwise so I'd rather be discrete about carrying my edc knives in public.

There are 38, but they're all in Australia.

Re: Really bad cut.

Commercially available super glue isn't the safest thing for cuts. Especially deep gashes. I'm also in the get it checked by a doctor group. Yeah, for a bad cut like the OP it's just a stop gap until you get to a doctor. There's also a pharmaceutical grade superglue called Dermabond that also conta...

Re: Ball bearing washers

I really wish the Domino was still in production, I'd like to see some kind of other variation on the scales or blade steel. Out of all my Spydies the Domino ranks up there with the PM2, after I broke it in it's just as drop shut smooth as a ZT 0562.

Re: Really bad cut.

Super glue is a knife nut's best friend. If it's just a small cut I always prefer super glue over a band aid. Just nicked my thumb yesterday with my Para 3 slicing a piece of tape. I agree though, get it checked out by a doctor!

Centofante 3/4, most criminally underappreciated knife Spyderco ever made I think. Then again it's still in production so maybe it's just the AFI's who aren't crazy about it.

+1 on the Centofante, I really like that one

Most underrated Spydercos?

We all know the PM2, Para 3, Delica, Manix, Slysz Bowie, etc.. are fan favorites, but what about the gems that fly under the radar? Which models come to mind for you? For me, I'd say the Domino. I understand the market is pretty crowded when it comes to $100-$200 framelock flippers, but despite that...

Re: Would you prefer if Spyderco boxes were improved in any way?

I say if it ain't broke don't fix it. I've yet to receive a Spyderco that's been damaged. Most reputable sellers ship in a priority flat rate box. If someone is too cheap to spend 7 bucks on shipping for a $100+ knife I'd rather not buy from them anyway :D I honestly dont mind if they ship first cl...

I've never got one that way.

Where'd you get it? Maybe it's possible the vendor shrink wrapped it for some reason.

Re: Fist in the Eye

with it's chippy reputation seemed an odd choice for a Scandi-edge. That combined with the price kept me from getting one. That's a fair point, but I always thought it was the quality of the heat treat that determined whether s30v was chippy or not. Afaik, Spyderco has that process down pretty well.

Re: Fist in the Eye

I believe Puukkos are traditionally made with a very high hardness, high carbon steel right? Out of the available steels which would have been the best fit in your mind?
