Double stuffs are a little undersized for serious reprofiling. If you owned one I could see trying it out, but it's not something I'd buy specifically for the job. It's meant more as a field sharpener.
Good point for some reason I thought it was larger, must have been the picture.

So here we are Mid to late September with 2019 coming to a close as I recall last year the 2018 Forum knife came out around October. Not being certain whether Forum Knives are part of the reveal program I would like to know if their will there be a 2019 Forum knife so I can budget for it. Thank you.

Fantastic you actually captured the true color of the scales. This is one of my favorite knives. Does anyone know if Spyderco ever sold out of them?

Re: How low do you go?

After further research it looks like Atoma is the way to go. I have also learned you have to be careful when purchasing Atoma as their are allot of counterfeit Atoma Stones. You also have to be careful not to make a mistake and just purchase the replacement Diamond plate. One of the things that tipp...

Re: Knives I wish I had bought two of

I have lost track of the number of knives I have purchased after getting one falling in love with it then purchasing a backup. Until..... the next interesting model of Spyderco comes out... At some point after thousands of dollars gone I realized a couple of things. 1. Having so many Spyderco’s and ...

Re: Knife opened in my pocket.

Saturday morning was sunny and warm but a little too windy to go fishing or anything so I grabbed a book to read under our mango tree with a cup of coffee. I was wearing a pair of knee length shorts with cargo pants style pockets with button down flaps and noticed a length of thread hanging from a ...

Re: Spyderco 2019 Reveal Volume 3 Per Knife Center

I will probably buy the Stretch.

The part I was surprised about was it being a sprint run. Too bad for a sprint it did not come out in Cruwear. Just looking at it he handle has great ergos much better than the PM2. I guess this one will be liner-less?

Re: How low do you go?

Now here is something I found interesting as a wicked edge pro owner. I decided to compare grits and discovered what DMT Sells as the Extra, Extra Coarse Diamond stone is about equal to the 100 Grit Wicked Edge Pro when comparing Microns to MIcrons. https://support.wickededgeusa.com/portal/kb/articl...

Re: Spyderco 2019 Reveal Volume 3 Per Knife Center

The Stretch 2 reminds me of a PM2 and it seems odd it is a lightweight Sprint run.

Re: How low do you go?

After reading this thread it looks like DMT is a pretty good way to go with free handing. It also seems Like ViVi has allot of experience with this so a couple of questions to ViVi. ViVi which of the DMT stones do you use to husk off lots of steel for a low angle reprofile? ViVi what is your grit pr...

Re: How low do you go?

I take both my Spydercos to 17 degrees off the flat grind. Since I use my knife for serious work, I'm cognizant of the diminished strength of steeper angles. But even more important, a shallower angle diminishes the aesthetic appeal of an otherwise pretty knife. For me, it makes no sense to go stee...

Re: How low do you go?

Hi Sean, thanks for the info. Am I understanding correctly that free hand created more of an apple seed grind and a stronger blade at the same angle? I mean I take people’s word for it but how do they imperially know what degree they are at free handing it? I have taken Blade’s down steep in the pas...

Re: How low do you go?

I guess the only way to get tall wide bevels is to hold the degree you want and keep grinding away. Is this correct? What are you guys using to husk off large amount of steel? Wicked edge pro stones at $75.00 are a bit expensive in my opinion seems like there should be a more affordable option than ...

Re: How low do you go?

Well ViVi you encouraged me now going to 10 degrees and realize my 100 grit paddles are shot, the 200 Grit sides are cutting better.

That re-profile down to 10 Degrees using the Hapstone 7 on S90V military really took allot out of these Wicked Edge paddles wow!
