Re: kme vs sharpmaker

Like SharpGuy and Bloke, I have the Hapstone (V7) for re-profiling and a sharpmaker for maintenance. I've only used them once for a blade over 5" so I can't speak for anything longer, but it's a great combination for my needs. No experience with the kme, but I do have a cheap clamp style sharpener f...

Re: Mule Team MT28P CPM SPY27 Revealed!

Now I feel silly. But I think Larry is on to something. I usually feel silly as a rule of thumb, but there's no reason too :p I have paid a good chunk for a discontinued 4V MuleTeam at around 2 1/2 times what they cost new and a couple flipper prices for some folders. I "had" to have them though :D...

Re: Mule Team MT28P CPM SPY27 Revealed!

MuleTeam knives can only be purchased from Spyderco direct, they don't go to dealers! They've not even been released yet!

Maybe I'm missing something

Re: Unpopular opinions

You can't get a good feel for how a knife steel behaves without using it enough to need to sharpen it multiple times. You can't get a really good feel for how a knife steel behaves without experimenting with edge angles. You can't get an extremely good feel for how a knife steel behaves without doi...

Re: Anyone here with a recent pacemaker?

Prayers Doc! My brother-in-law survived a widow maker two years ago as he stopped for a red light. With foot on the brake he slumped over and my sister had the presence of mind to put the car in park. Until that point he had no previous health issues and was rarely sick, worked as a respiratory ther...

Re: Will we ever get a FFG hawkbill?

If the Superhawk had a little more curve/hook to it and SE it would be incredible. As it is (was) it really needed more hook, it was almost like a wharncliffe with a negative blade angle. Interesting timing on this topic, I've been playing around with my Spyderhawk a lot lately and to my surprise (...

I'd be in! https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=86113&p=1404064&hilit=...a+FFG+hawkbill#p1404064 Sorry Connor, I didn't catch this thread but I'd love to have M4 or K390 SE if they could do it. Would you still prefer plain edge even if the edge retention was higher with the super steels? ...

Re: Will we ever get a FFG hawkbill?

The Superhawk was a terrific knife and had the curve been deeper, I would prefer it to my Spyderhawk. That being said, many of the reverse-s knives have been done in FFG so I don't think the limiting factor is the manufacturing. Sales are unfortunately what tend to drive obscure and unconventional ...

That would be very nice! Did they ever make it with serrations? I'm not sure I'd want one in PE but I'd be happy for those who would ;)

Will we ever get a FFG hawkbill?

Unless I'm mistaken Spyderco doesn't have anything like this, maybe the P'Kal but I wouldn't call that a hawkbill. I think they're all hollow grind! I know I've voiced my desire for a FFG Spyderhawk in SE LC200N Sprint or even VG10 or S30V and I'd instantly purchase one or more...Shoot, FFG SE Spyde...

And I use my finger to open envelopes. :p
Fingers have a high carbon content and are rustproof! Edge holding ability is not great tho Lol
They make great picks too! A little taboo for public, but what do I know. :D

It only lasts for 10 minutes or so...Kirinite about the same. I'm going to have to try Spyderco's.

I can confirm this statement.
I keep mine beside my bed for this reason.
If the real "reason" is because there may be monsters under the bed, I totally understand 😁
It is, but they deny they are there
Great, monsters with an existential crisis :p
