Re: Need help making a decision

I’ve head mostly good things about Spyderco’s CS, other than a few complaints of delays in and around super busy times of the year for them. I’ve also heard mostly good things about CR CS. As far as reblasting the scales, if I ever send a knife in for repair it’ll have a note on it asking to not “p...

Re: Need help making a decision

I am wondering how you treated the people at Spyderco? I have found how you treat others often has alot to do with how they treat you. Spyderco is pure heart and soul you can take that to the bank when I was upset Sal himself even took his precious time to e-mail a nobody like me. Bros, that is spe...

Re: Need help making a decision

I've got an update for anyone still following this thread. The Manix 2 I ordered arrived and it was WAY bigger than I thought it would be so I sent it back. Took a look at a Fluted Carbon Fiber Native 5 and just came to the realization that the "nice" I'm looking for in a knife runs $200....

Re: Need help making a decision

Just US made, not a backlock, rather cheap plus "nicer"/cf: That's a tough one.. I' d suggest: Give a backlock a chance, would make it easier! ;) I'm not looking for something cheap for the sake of cheap. I've bought and sold a Chris Reeve small Sebenza and a Benchmade 940-1 be...

Re: Need help making a decision

The main thing about LA law appears to be that you have to conceal your knife, meaning pocket clip use is out for any blade 3” or longer. If you want to try the Manix 2, it’s my favorite small Spyderco, I can warmly recommend it. The Flytanium CF scales are good, but smooth. I also love the 4V M2, ...

Re: Need help making a decision

No dimensions. But there's a Para 3 directly in front of a Manix 2. The Manix is quite a bit larger. Hope this helps! 2FJvUXfh.jpg Unless the picture is deceiving me it looks like the the tallest point of both knives is the Spydier hole.I carry my knives tip up right side so that means the blade wo...

Re: Need help making a decision

I forgot to mention I own a Para 3. It carries ok enough in the pocket not to bother me. Is the Manix 2 that much wider?

Can someone measure the width of a closed manix 2
And provide it to me? I want to compare it to my Para 3.

Re: Need help making a decision

The Manix will be wider in the pocket than a Para 2 or 3. If you can get past the knife being made in Taiwan, I feel the Ikuchi would be worth looking at. Very slim, very light, carbon fiber and nicely made. I know the Taichung factory puts out some great quality products but the stamp on the blade...

Need help making a decision

Hello Everyone, I currently own a Benchmade Bugout and a Para 3 in S110V. These 2 knives have filled my "lightweight" and "great EDC blade" needs. I'm looking for a "nicer" knife to carry in my rotation. I've come to learn that if the "nicer" knife is expensiv...

Re: SpyderCo Warranty customer service experience

Hi Armen, Welcome to our forum. Having the blade fall free is not in the spec of the knife. Most will do it, either when new or when broken in, but QC does not reject for that. sal Hi Sal, love your knives and thanks for the welcome! I understand the blade fall is not in the spec but the brand new ...

Re: SpyderCo Warranty customer service experience

I have only had one pm2 that was new, but regarding action it was absolutely perfect for me: it didn't fall a single millimeter when the lock was disengaged, even after giving the knife a light shake. Over 2-3 weeks of use, it loosened up and would almost completely fall freely. I switched scales t...

Re: Spyderco ParaMilitary 2 suddenly very hard to open

I was Opening my knife today and it suddenly the little ball thing of the lock started making it really hard to open... Any ideas? The Para Military 2 features a compression lock. It sounds like you are describing a ball bearing lock problem. Do you maybe have a Ganzo Paramilitary 2 knock off knife...

Re: SpyderCo Warranty customer service experience

I don't think blade not dropping freely is technically a warranty issue since the knife is otherwise fully functional. I also think sometimes what you explain to the person on the phone is lost once the knife makes it to the person who works on it. There seems to be a bit of middle man action happe...

SpyderCo Warranty customer service experience

I called SpyderCo customer service a few months ago and explained to the friendly rep that answered the phone that I could not get my Para Military 2 blade to drop freely while maintaining blade centering and no blade play. I went further to explain that for some reason the stop pin screw tension wa...
