Re: Anyone Else Up For a Resilience in CPM-M4?

A clear yes.

Always for more mid to high end linerlock - (as alternatives or instead of comp.lock - ) Spydies and also for more models with a good amount of cutting edge to closed size ratio!

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

Agreed! but already own. Looking for an excuse and rationale to buy another smaller Spyderco. Wife has a G10 sage D'fly I bought her years ago, but that's off-limits to me; I'm told I have plenty of my own knives to use. So I've narrowed it down to a FRN D'fly or a Lil'Native LW at this point, and ...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

Hahahaha! You are SO predictable! While your logic may be sound, I have an irrational predilection for larger blades. Right now, there's no need for me to buy anything from the existing line-up. I have what I need (and then some). I'm patiently waiting for the next reveal. I want that LW Manix 2 in...

the Chaparral has a BACKlock?

🤯

;) .. now you can get one! If you indeed choose so, I bet you´ll love it! (And the best backlock I personally ever experienced in any folder...)

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

I don't own a Chaparral, but I would prefer the bidirectional FRN over the G10. I REALLY like Spyderco's bidirectional surface. The feature that would keep me away from the Chaparral is the compression lock. The compression lock is nice, but I'm not a fan of using it in my left hand. Thanks! ... bu...

Endela SE - to me the prototype of a true no nonsense workhorse folder.

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

The D'fly is truly brilliant. The one-piece handle is the epitome of elegant functionality. It has The Hump. The Lil Native is a flatback. If I wanted a flatback, I'd buy a Buck folder. The only downside of the Dragonfly is the clip screws. They're an offensive abomination. This size, however, is t...

Re: Still wishing for a Chaparral XL / Endela "thin edition" / or something along that lines

.... I wouldn't be much interested in the Endela. I loved the SE blade but I really have trouble with how much lock rock I get from factory on this family of knives. I must be unlucky but out of 4 Del/Endela/Endura only 1 isn't making noise by simply shaking the knife :grin-sweat .... Yes, the Ende...

Re: Endela (-sized "middle ground" knife) in the "Pac Salt family"?!

Thanks for the reply. Verry helpful. I've searched and read mixed results when comparing the performance of SE LC200N and H1/H2. I think I'll just have to buy one of each and compare. Who knows, maybe a magnacut option will be available and I'll have three to compare. Basically I want a 3-3.5 inch ...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

Thanks for the analysis so far. Would there be less distinction between the FRN D'fly and the Lil' Native LW? Because I'm leaning in the direction of an FRN LW model of one or the other. In which case, the D'fly K390 FRN has 2.3" long blade, 2.5mm thick, 1.2 oz. The Lil' N LW will have a 2.4&q...

Re: Anyone else have rusting issues on their H2 knives?

Welcome to the forum evc23 There has been another report of an H2 knife corroding, see here https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?p=1776922#p1776922 (starting with this post, then a longer discussion over several replies) It turned out that the reason for that corrosion most likely was "cont...

Re: Endela (-sized "middle ground" knife) in the "Pac Salt family"?!

Do you prefer the salt ffg in lc200n or the saber/hollow h2? I think the ffg Endela is better. If an Endela salt comes around, I'd prefer ffg but only if the steel works. Magnacut is a Golden steel and the Delica/Endura line hails from Japan. Wonder how that'd work. Sorry for the late reply! - When...

Re: Serrated Edge for Hunting?

What I never want to see, however, is my doctor wanting to do surgery with a serrated edge. :grin-sweat True! I figure for super-precise cuts into flesh a very sharp and keen plain V - edge with a really acute edge angle just has to be better than a serrated edge with its teeth and chisel grind. Th...

Re: Chief vs Stretch XL for fishing knife?

.... I cannot see the point of PE H2 when there are two corrosion resistant and much better edge-holding steels available, at least one of which is already available for use by Seki. I don't really understand the delay given so many other manufacturers are deploying MagnaCut across their ranges. I ...

For EU folks- In stock in com2you-biwak, a bit pricey but at least you can grab it!

Also still at Coutellerie Tourangelle, even for a few (not many) Euros less.

Re: Still wishing for a Chaparral XL / Endela "thin edition" / or something along that lines

Necrothread!!! I have been using the new Catcherman in the kitchen, and Thin For The Win! Endela thin is a good idea for me, I like more blade first, more handle and then less choil. "Necrothread" perhaps when looking at the date when I started it..;) But it got resurrected three times al...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!

I always bend my clips out a little, so I hope that will suffice. I won't be sanding, using epoxy or buying a clip for my new knife though. Bending out would not be a solution for all.. I always go the other way: Remove the clip, bend it IN and attach it again so that the tension actually gets stro...

Re: Serrated Edge for Hunting?

.... Last hunting season I actually carried a 1. gen Stretch PE, which is a really nice knife. Unfortunately it wasn’t my best season, so I only got to process a couple of hares and birds with it. It shares much DNA with the S2XL, but the size suits me better. The only downside compared to the nati...
