Re: "Putting" "words" "in" "quotation" "marks"
Hmmm... I guess I do use quotation marks quite a bit. - For one of course when I am actually quoting someone - like when I repeat a question of someone in quotes so that they know what I am precisely replying too. - But then there is that "not an English Native speaker" - thing (see? I put...

Re: Para 3 LW Slip Joint
...... Hi Gernot 👋🏻 Good points, all well made 👍🏻 for me I tend to use the PM3 for different stuff to my UKPK (sometimes I carry them both together), but I get where you’re coming from. For me the UKPK excels at food prep and light duty general cutting, whereas I find my PM3 comes into its own when...

Re: Native Scout?
I have been following this thread and kept scratching my head why a 3.5 made sense . The pictures of the mod Chief sold me , very impressive . If this would ever go forward I could see one in my pocket . MG2 Yes, I always say that to me personally the Native 5 is probably the coolest looking Spydie...

Re: Knife that screams liner lock got the compression lock - why?
Hey, All: Circling back to Wartstein's questions about my statement: "...for a bushcraft-worthy knife, the strength of a Compression Lock is a significant advantage..." Of course not claiming at all that I'd know even remotely close to what you (and of course also Sal) know about knife de...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
My choice for todays long run through the woods - as so often one for cutting, three for no spin throwing ;) Don't have to introduce Goddard the Great, still loving it! The Sharp Blade Arrows Vengeance have become my favorite no spin throwers. Really like the substantial weight, the thick (8mm) spin...

Re: Para 3 LW Slip Joint
Hey Al, So far I don't need any Slipjoints for a legal carry, still my thoughts: - As you say a slipjoint Para 3 would compete with the UKPK ... and there I have to be honest: The win for me personally clearly goes to the UKPK: - Much thinner bladestock (and one can't really brutally beat on the thi...

Re: Any news on the Kapara slipjoint?
First of all thanks from across the border - a premium SlipIt will be much appreciated over here in Germany. As far as I know, this picture shows a custom knife that Sal might base his version on. I'd expect him to modify the design here and there though and am excited to see what he comes up with ...

Re: Any news on the Kapara slipjoint?
I would rather be interested in a smaller Kapara with a liner lock. As always: A linerlock Kapara has my full and enthusiastic support!! (Would not actually have to be smaller for me though, but I have to admit: An a bit shorter linerlock Kapara would still be compelling: The platform offers just s...

WE could always buy a Native chief and do this, too : https://messerforum.net/threads/spyderco-native-custom-special-wip.145705/ Ding ding ding! Re: A step into the modern world with the Lil Native / thoughts
Hello everyone, thank you for all your kind replies to my first thread (Recommendations for a European traditionalis), I've now got my first Spyderco knife and I'm going to tell you all the things you already know about anyways, but I'm just pretty excited. After checking out all of your suggestion...

Re: Native Scout?
OK, I gotta admit, that's a very attractive size. Seeing it won me over. Can we just scootch the finger choil back into the handle a bit? There's plenty of room, and it'd leave more edge available for cutting. That´s a great proposal and would make me really interested in a 3.5" Native! So far...

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run
If I can get one, it looks like the price will be the equivalent of USD 112 + VAT + processing = about USD 160. Hopefully I can avoid the shipping fee, but then I will have to buy something else as well, to get above the free shipping threshold. So not exactly free shipping :) Still not that much m...

Re: Shaman w/ XHP & Black Micarta
Huh, strange mix of characteristics. After looking over some info, the only thing that I can think might edge it over some of it's competition (unintentional pun there) would be if it sharpened easier than more stainless options, but I haven't seen anything that suggests it does. It can get pretty ...

Re: Chaparral
I have a feeling the last two remaining non-FRN Chaparral folders (Raffir Noble & Birdseye Maple) will be in the 2025 Discontinued List which will be announced later this year. Chaparral CF/G-10 and Sun & Moon were discontinued in August 2023 as part of the 2024 Official Discontinued List ....

Re: Shaman in XHP and Micarta
It's not an exclusive and during Blade HQs live video they said 'limited run'. So is it a sprint? No offense meant, but imo it would be a good thing if people checked if there perhaps already IS a recent thread on stuff like a newly revealed exclusive, model before they start a new one... Would kee...

Re: Native Scout?
Just to sum up what in my subjective opinion makes a "real Native", why people might want a version between the "5" and the Chief and why the Shaman is not that. - Rather thin, slicey, but not tall blade with comparably fine tip (very fine on the Chief). (Shaman: Thick, partly sa...

Re: Native Scout?
..... I didn’t say a 3.5” Native wasn’t for me and it wasn’t hyperbole, I meant it - where is the limit? People have already been asking for a larger Native Chief as well. 4.5” Native Chiefs are also a glaring hole in their lineup, so why shouldn’t they make it? Either way, I would question if thei...
