Re: It's About Time For: A Full SE Catcherman
JD said full SE … .. I know, that is what he is advocating for... but he literally says (quote) " There has been some recent talk of a possible Catcherman Sprint Run which I'm personally excited about. But I most of all miss the fully serrated version of the Catcherman..." - so the 1.) &q...

You do know that this is not just "talk of a possible Catcherman Sprint Run" anymore but you can actually buy that knife (ffg comboedge) right now?!

Re: Tri-Angle™ Stones Cubic Boron Nitride or Tri-Angle™ Stones Diamond?
Palestrina : I´d recommend getting coarse sharpmaker rods anyway, aside from reprofiling - which works of course, but might take a little time. For just that, as said, my CBNs could even be a bit coarser. What I really like in my CBNs is the coarse edge they can create - worth trying out, see this ...

Re: Tri-Angle™ Stones Cubic Boron Nitride or Tri-Angle™ Stones Diamond?
I agree, they do probably take steel off faster. If my goal though was to reprofile kitchen knives my first choice would not be CBN/Diamond rods on the Sharpmaker. I think a fixed system or freehand would be the way to go. Again just IMO no expert either. I think so too. For truly reprofiling PE I ...

Re: Tri-Angle™ Stones Cubic Boron Nitride or Tri-Angle™ Stones Diamond?
CBN or Diamond is not more aggressive than the brown stone included. They are made to cut harder steels like 15V or Manix that the normal brown and white rods can’t effectively sharpen. ... Not an expert, but I am not sure I understand - ? Perhaps the term "aggressive" can be interpreted ...

Re: Delica size with fidget factor?
Is the Sage similar in size to the Delica? And is the LW version the one to get? Yes, in the length-dimension it pretty much is. You can compare specs yourself by opening "technical specs" for a certain knife on the Spyderco site: Here https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C11F/456 the...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?
A Back Lock versus a mid Back Lock is where you press to disengage the lock. A back lock like in the Buck 110 you have to press at the very bottom which is very inconvenient for one-handed closing. The mid back lock like in Spyderco folders has the disengagement in the middle which makes it easy to...

You really haven´t ?! And I thought Vivi and I would actually start to get annoying, cause we´ve shared our clips on that quite a bit already OK, maybe I have, and forgot. I'm pretty sure I watched your vids. It's a neat trick and I'll have to try it. It is actually not just a "trick" in ...

Re: Question about lanyard holes.........
I don't use lanyard holes on folders, but I don't mind their presence. I also don't require that a folder be deep carry, and in fact I prefer to have a bit of handle sticking out to make extraction easier. ... and put the finger closer to the opening hole when one draws the knife (carried in tip up...

Re: Question about lanyard holes.........
I'm wondering how many people use a lanyard on a pocket knife. To me, it's a useless ugly hole that in many cases interferes with the position of the pocket clip so the knife cannot be deep carried. A lanyard is useful on a fixed blade for retention when chopping and hacking; on a folder a lanyard ...

Re: Flattening Whestones
Glass is cheap. Glass is flat enough. Glass wears slowly enough. I have an old cast iron surface plate. It's not super-precise, but I'd prefer to keep abrasives away from it nevertheless. Granite is another great material for surface plates. But they're expensive, and we don't need that level of pr...

Re: Flattening Whestones
Uneducated question (I have almost no experience with wetstones): Why do you all appearantly use specifically a glass plate to stick sandpaper or whatever abrasive to? Why not any other hard plate? (Like some metal)? Is it because glass has the least tendency to bend or something like this? (A thick...

Re: Delica size with fidget factor?
I love my Delica but miss the fidget factor of the compression lock PM2? Is there a Spyderco in the D4 size with a compression lock? Or at least similar fun factor to a PM? Thanks! PS and if it came in a Salt version, I’d be smitten! Don´t know about "fun and fidget factor" generally and ...

Re: Chief vs Stretch XL for fishing knife?
... I have owned a G10 Chief since they were released and while it has its strengths it is just too pointy and tip biased to make a good outdoors type knife. There is a knife I own though that is far superior to the Chief and is one of my favourites. I think it would suit your uses perfectly - the ...

.... So anyway, what are you guys’ thoughts? Specifically on the Stretch XL vs Chief as an outdoors /fishing knife , but also more generally on how you value design vs steel and which is more important to you. Hey Lance, I am not a fisherman, but what I use a general outdoors folder for, the Chief ...

Re: Endela (-sized "middle ground" knife) in the "Pac Salt family"?!
It would also be great if an Endela Salt's blade shape is kept exactly the same as the regular Endela's; meaning, the tip is NOT made any more rounded in the same way that the tips on the Salt 1 & 2, and the Pac Salt were changed and sheepsfooted from the Delica's and the Endura's original tip ...
