Re: 2026 Forum Calendar Contest!

This year I chose my very first Spyderco, a Delica. When I first got it, it seemed unusual with the thumb hole opening. At some point it just clicked, and now it is by far my favorite opening system. Also, the VG-10 was a confidence booster for a new sharpener like myself. I love how it’s easy to ...

Re: 2021 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!

I love this contest. I think half the fun is trying to think of an idea. I've also been enjoying seeing all the entries this year. There's a lot of talented people on this forum. Good luck to everyone!

I chose the UKPK. It's light. It's simple. Fits the hand well. I like it!

I took the picture of ...

Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder

Honestly, I feel like some of these steels coming out are so insane and so overdone for 99% of the population. Yes, it's definitely cool to see what their capable of, but I bet NOBODY here really needs something this extreme for a Spyderco folder

People that cut apples and slice cardboard ...

In regards to the above reference to the “spinning pivot”
And the earlier reference to a “self destructing pivot” by a different poster (not sure which model that was in reference to).... can someone explain in laymen’s terms what these remarks are in regards to? Are people talking about when ...

Re: The best pocket knife ever

Tough crowd, but the Urban is definitely up there for me. Have 3 of them.

The Maniago f&f issues may be a touch overblown. The spinning pivot can happen with the frn UKPK. I've had excessive loctite on knives from several factories. Grit/gunk in the pivot impeding normal function can be from ...

Re: 2020 Spyderco Product Guide

I was showing the catalog to someone I know who has been in graphic design for quite a while. They were surprised that such a high quality product was free to customers. They were impressed at even just the cover, and what it takes to make that happen. They also made a comment about the high quality ...

Re: Spydercos beginnings

Hey Brooklyn,

Welcome to our forum (I was born in Brooklyn).

FYI, when Gail and I began Spyderco, we were homeless, living in a 1955 International step van (with our 2 yr old daughter) that was a bread delivery truck that we converted to a motor home. We towed a VW beetle behind the truck with ...
