Re: Wharncliffe's

Good point about the SE folders, I wasn't taking those into account. The edge on my Salt Wharncliffe SE holds up just fine... And now that I think of it, the grooves in the SE salt are basically the same as a zero edge (on one side), full flat/hollow grind, so the precedence is there as far as dura...

Re: Wharncliffe's

.... But, Sal, are you thinking of still having a V edge then or would this be a chisel grind? (So the full flat side would go all the way down to the apex without a secondary bevel, and just the hollow grind side would have one) Have to quote my own post from the beginning of this thread: Cause lo...

Re: Wharncliffe's

Personally, I pictured something more like this when I read about the full-flat/hollow grind (I just curved one of the sides of an isosceles triangle).

Re: Wharncliffe's

Now this is my kind of thread! The wharncliffe is most definitely my favorite blade shape. Especially if it’s thin an slicey. For me, it’s reall all about the ergonomics. Where I work, I cut open dozens of poly wrapped pallets every day. This involves making a cut from chest level to ankles, and a w...

Re: Mule Scales question

Scales lifting at the ends is a really common issue. It’s caused by having the clamps a bit too tight while curing the epoxy.

I didn't realize those went for $52 normally. I picked mine up for $21 back in February from Knifeworks.

I'm curious to see if the choiless Shaman was given the Rockjumper treatment as far as the "handle forward" design goes.

Re: Mule Scales question

I was thinking about putting a set of Titanium Damascus scales on a mule. I haven't seen this done, so I thought there might be an issue. Would such scales stay on or would the differential expansion of the metals cause the epoxy to break? Thanks I don't see any reason it couldn't be done, G/Flex s...

Re: NEW: MGE Wholesale Teal Native5 Exclusive

Just put my order in! My wife's all time favorite knife is the teal/S30V Dragonfly, but she was just saying the other day how she could use something a little beefier for when she has to break a big box down for recycling (like actually cutting the box, rather than just the tape). This should fit th...

Heine Heines Exlusive UKPK delayed... Again.

https://i.imgur.com/DICU08q.jpg I hate to say it, but with no delivery date I'm really considering cancelling my order. I ordered this knife back in March and it was expected in June. Then it was delayed until August. Now the delivery date is up in the air. I understand Covid is causing a lot of is...

Re: Production Cruwear and 4V

The difference between Cruwear and 4V is night and day. I've got each of them in both the Shaman and Manix and the edge retention on both in 4V is far superior than Cruwear. I'm actually considering selling my Cruwear Manix towards a future purchase because it's so blah, middle of the road. I'd tak...

Any update on a spot opening up in Golden so this can be produced? I've had my order in with Heinnie since March and it has been delayed multiple times because of Covid.

Shawn's design is very nice. He said he preferred that it be made in Golden. I told him Golden was backed up. Shawn said he would wait as long as it takes. I've been watching production closely to see where we can squeeze it in. sal This seals the deal with me. :) Right? A collaboration between Sha...
