Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread

Looks like DLT Trading won't be dropping their Lil' Natives until early next week, so hopefully some of you can get in on that. They sent me what I thought was an automated marketing message today and I jokingly replied "where's the REX45 Lil' Native?!", and they actually responded, lol.

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

Be aware that Campsaver.com doesn't always have their items in stock and uses a shared warehouse that can take weeks to ship. That said, Siren, Astute, and Swayback preordered :) Did you have to pay up front? Thanks, Rich If you use PayPal, you will be charged right away because that's just how Pay...

The Watu was in stock. They had 5 left when I bought.
Yea, I couldn't resist since they had them in stock. I'm excited for this one! The blade is pretty thin and should be very slicey. :D

Campsaver has a 20% off code for people who sign up for their email notifications. I just picked up a Watu for $146 (before tax) with free shipping. Sweet deal imo.

Re: TeroTuf!

I would love to get a set for the back-lock version of the Lil' Native but without any of the screw holes for attaching a pocket clip. Just glancing at the site, I don't think they offer scales for linerless models like the Lil native back-lock. Very sadly, I've never seen micarta or terotuf scales...

An s90v/cf UKPK (preferably with a leaf blade and non-laminate cf) would instantly go to the top of my purchase list if such a knife were to be released.

Re: M390 Steel – History and Properties (and 20CV and 204P)

Corrosion resistance is inconsequential to me most of the time, so it's seeming like ease of sharpening is about the only advantage M390/20CV/204P gives me over S30V. All this testing is really making me appreciate S30V more as a good all around knife steel at a reasonable price... And I think I'm a...

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread

So I'm just curious - why is the lil native so much hotter than the native or native lw from this run? What about this one appeals to y'all? I'm not a fan of the Native LW at all. I think it needs a steel backspacer or something, the balance just feels off to me. I lost interest in the G10 Native w...

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread

I hope a couple of you were able to get in on the KnifeJoy drop. Honestly, this has been the most frustrating sprint release I've dealt with. I think it's a combination of living on the West Coast (most drops happen while I'm working) and being stuck at work for much longer hours until this Covid-19...

KnifeJoy!

Says sold out, but I think they are updating it because it now allows you to add the knife to your cart and checkout (it didn't allow this earlier today).

Re: What’s Your Favorite Underrated Sleeper Knife?

The UK Pen Knife. I think a lot of people overlook it because it's a slip joint, but it's been able to tackle every job I've thrown at it and then some. Decent steel, thin blade stock, great ergonomics, deep carry wire-clip, useful size, amazing price. The strong half-stop also gives me more confide...

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread

Anyone remember if distributors tend to release sprint runs on weekends, or if they typically wait until Monday? Re: I Tested the Edge Retention of 48 Steels

Recently I was able to acquire a used CATRA machine, so I heat treated just about every knife steel I had, made 57 knives with the help of knifemaker Shawn Houston, and tested them all to see which cut the longest. For a few of the steels I did multiple heat treatments to look at a couple variables...

I got the steel from Sal today. That brings the list to Spy27 Rex76 CPM T15 420 Stainless Bohler M398 Rex 45 Maxamet These are the next Catra blades to be made for Dr Larrin at Knifesteelnerds. -Shawn Do you know if there are plans to charpy impact test all of the samples used in the edge retention...

I had a lot of fun making Mule handles. I'm really glad to see the Mule program returning. Here's one from about 4 years ago that I made for one of my favorite forum members.
