Re: The DAMAUKPK Project: Damasteel UK Penknife UKPK

Please put a torx head on each side of the pivot screw! May I ask why? Putting a Torx head on both sides involves custom machining a new pivot sleeve which seems like a lot of work for little to no payoff. https://i.imgur.com/OGNNelm.jpg The spinning Urban pivot is a problem for some. The D shaped ...

Re: Best Spyderco value

For me, the Bow River, the UKPK, and Para 3 LW are the best value in the Spyderco lineup. As runner-ups, I'd throw the Delica Wharncliffe in there (I would consider it a value at nearly any price considering it's my all time favorite Spyderco), as well as the Tenacious LW in S35VN (no experience wit...

Re: Serrated H-1 vs. Serrated LC200N?

At 2:12 of this video... Eric states that serrated H1 holds an edge longer than serrated LC200N. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0c_D_A4ho5Q That's good enough for me. *edit I just realized that this thread is from January 2020... Not January 2021, lol! In any case, this mystery is put to rest at le...

Re: Reveal 7, a what now?

This reveal has me VERY happy! I will absolutely be grabbing a K390 Delica and Dragonfly Wharncliffe the moment they are available! Same with the serrated Salt Wharncliffe and Mule Team... And I wouldn't be surprised if my wife wanted one of the pink Dragonflys. She has one in teal and it is her all...

Re: Wow this is funny. Look at this guys feedback. Selling fake knifes even Benchmades

I've purchased from eCop several times with no issues. In fact, I just purchased an Exotac FireROD from them and got a solid deal on it a few weeks ago. They may have 595 negative feedback over the last six months... But they also have 39,779 POSITIVE feedback over that same six months. For a legiti...

Re: New Double Sided CBN Benchstone

I guess I'll find out how they compare soon enough. :) https://i.imgur.com/aNxfFyR.jpg Mine has a little bit of corner damage from shipping, but it shouldn't affect sharpening. No harm, no foul. I think the Bench Stone may be a little too heavy to ship in a clamshell package though. When mine arrive...

Re: UF OR TRANSLUCENT STONE?

I like to use a flashlight and a dark room to show off my translucent Arkansas stones. :) https://i.imgur.com/7xijgOR.jpg As far as the question from the OP goes... To me, my 2" x 8" translucent FEELS like it is kind of in between the Spyderco Fine and Ultra Fine... Probably a bit closer to the UF. ...

Re: UF OR TRANSLUCENT STONE?

What type of steel are you sharpening? I still like to use my Arkansas stones on simple carbon steels (I use a soft and translucent directly after coming off the Norton Crystolon and India), but they are no match for some of today's steels and the carbides that come along with them.

Re: Can we please get some kind of update/estimate on the Heinnie UKPK?

Covid has messed with many US companies, Spyderco included. We're still producing, but we're all spread out and everything just takes longer. Things that we could do in a day, not takes a week or more, especially in R & D. sal 100% understandable! I was just hoping to get an update since there hadn...

Re: Can we please get some kind of update/estimate on the Heinnie UKPK?

Thank you very much Kristi!

The last update we got about the delay was back in August of 2020, so just having some sort of update on the estimate is very much appreciated.

Thanks again and stay safe!

Re: Can we please get some kind of update/estimate on the Heinnie UKPK?

I purchased it directly from Heinnie Haynes as it is a Spyderco exclusive that only they sell. I have spoken to Heinnie directly. They do not have an estimate of when it will be released because Spyderco has not given them an update on when it will be finished. Heinnie said the delay is not on their...

The lack of a response is making me think I’m being unreasonable by asking for an estimation of when a knife we be completed that many of us paid for upfront nearly a year ago...

Re: Can we please get some kind of update/estimate on the Heinnie UKPK?

I'm surprised no one has responded to this. From what I remember in a recent thread, Heinnie may have not been very quick in submitting their order to Spyderco. I seem to remember Sal saying about that in a thread about the UKPK. So I would say your should pursue reaching out to Heinnie. I love the...

Can we please get some kind of update/estimate on the Heinnie UKPK?

We're coming up on a year since I (and many others) paid for this knife and have yet to get any kind of update as to when to expect it to be re-released. First it was supposed to come out in June. Then it was delayed until August. Then it was delayed until an unknown date. Not a huge deal, but we pa...

Sal sent me one to check out https://youtu.be/H37NEs0qUkw I've got one of these bad boys on the way. :) I have an 8" Coarse/Fine DMT DuoSharp sitting on my workbench right now. Any chance you could chime in with how the Spyderco CBN Benchstone compares? I imagine they would have similar performance...

Re: Lil Native hardware

I don't know of anyone who has titanium Native 5 screws available. The titanium screws/sleeves for Spyderco knives have to be custom machined, so only the most popular of knives tend to have sets available. Also be careful to get a set that gives you screws for both sides (which usually also require...
