Re: Wow this is funny. Look at this guys feedback. Selling fake knifes even Benchmades

eCop is a huge business with a huge inventory. Their negative feedback is in line with what you see from many huge retailers - people receiving order cancellations or incorrect items about 1% of the time, with sketchy customer service if something does go wrong. They have hundreds of transactions pe...

eCop is a legitimate vendor. Why do you think they're selling fakes? 98.9% feedback is completely acceptable for a seller with nearly 2 million feedback.

Re: Swiss Army Alox Pioneer With Spyderco Dragonfly Blade Knife

I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with selling a mod like this as 'new', so long as all of the parts are from new knives, the work is professionally executed, and there is full disclosure as to what 'new' means in this context. Listing such an item as 'New (Other)' would be be within...

It looks like a genuine Alox Cadet (not a Pioneer) modded with a genuine Dragonfly blade.

It's definitely counterfeit, and reported to eBay.

The Chinese will most definitely counterfeit cheap knives. There are $20 counterfeits of $30 Ontario RATs.

Re: Grail Acquired

I've wondered why that particular sprint wasn't in D2 like the foliage green PM1.

It would be great to see a pre-2008 C95 backlock in something like Rex 45 or Cruwear with the dino jimping and everything.

Re: This guy in Russia has 3 fakes for sale. Very poor ones too

It is unfortuantely a drop in a bucket. I've reported about 20 fake PM2s in just the past week. eBay pulls some of them, but many get sold. Here's the counterfeit PM2s that eBay hasn't pulled since the beginning of October... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tactical-Pocketknife-Knife-Spyderco-Paramilitary-...

Re: ZDP - Wow its brittle!

What's this dark spot right here? http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/misc/zdp189break.jpg I can't tell if it's a speck of rust or just dark from the lighting angle, but it looks very much like a speck of rust. If so, then you had some sort of stress crack in the spine prior to the actual breaking inci...

Re: Pretty sure this Delica 4 is a fake

It looks like a used D4 to my eyes. I compared the directional texturing to my D4 and much of the bi-directions I directly compared match up; in count and in placement. My "SPYDERCO" features the same spacing between the ring and the script. Looks like the SP are close together, the Y has the large...

Re: Fire Starting Gear

Fatwood is just the heart of a pine tree down by the stump, where all of the resin collects. It can be from any species of pine that produces a high amount of resin. I believe I advocated for Bic lighters the last time this subject came up, but there is something to be said for refillable windproof ...

Re: Pretty sure this Delica 4 is a fake

The FRN doesn't have the characteristic mold flash that brand new genuine Delicas have. Delicas probably have more convincing fakes than any other Spyderco model out there. Unless it's from an authorized dealer, or it's a sprint variant (which aren't counterfeited as a general rule), I'd avoid it ju...

Re: VIDEOS: 6 ways of closing a CBBL one handed

#6 is the way I operate a Manix, but I don't think it's anywhere near as nice as the PM2 (although I carry a RH PM2 left-handed and my closing method is different/better compared the standard RH-RH close).

Here's how I operate a PM2...

Re: Need help nailing down PM1 PE DLC drop date

Do you place no value on there being an accurate record of Spyderco's production history? I believe the date on Spydiewiki may be incorrect, and it's certainly not precise. I've nailed down the date as closely as I can, without myself having been a contemporaneous forum participant who might remembe...

Need help nailing down PM1 PE DLC drop date

Spydiewiki just says 2005 for the drop date, but forum searches suggest it may have been released in December 2004 or earlier. The first mention of an existent plain edge DLC PM1 that I could find was 2005-01-04, where somebody was contemplating between getting satin or the "new black". On 2005-01-0...

This article covers most of the hiking filters on the market, and tells you what they claim to filter and what they actually filter... https://www.wideners.com/blog/water-filter-tests-for-survival/ In my own experience, Sawyer filters are terrible. They will jam up if there's the tiniest amount of s...
