My fascination developed amidst my "flipper is the best opener" phase... admittedly because I had not yet purchased my first Spyderco and only knew I hated cheaply made thumbstud knives.

Re: First ever grail knife has been converted to MY knife
Wow, you are lucky. I think I may drop dead if my wife ever endorses a knife purchase. Congratulations on the knife too. I can't decide whether I am more shocked by her initial "let's get it" attitude, or by her response of "oh that's not too bad" when I informed her of the price!

First ever grail knife has been converted to MY knife
I'm sitting on the couch Friday evening with my wife and watching a couple Shabazz vids. I happened to click on one where he is talking about the discontinued Spyderco list for 2018. When he gets to the Domino, I absently stated aloud that I'm still so sad about that discontinuation since that was t...

Re: The next best thing to buying a knife...
This is one of the reasons to own more than one knife. If one goes AWOL for a while, there are others you can use until it shows up. Losing knives is how I rationalized probably my first 6 or so knife purchases in my life. "Oh shucks, where's my knife?!... Guess it's time to run to the store a...

I enjoy the overall quality of Fossil options considering the competition at their pricepoint. https://i.imgur.com/oVfv87G.jpg Nice setup! Fossil does indeed make a quality product. They even produce a lot of the other high end fashion watches like Skagen, Armani, DKNY, Michael Kors, and many other...

Re: The next best thing to buying a knife...
Rats, got me with that title! Expected a "bought a new gun" thread where I'd end up wanting to spend all the monies ogling new firearms purchases... I guess knives do the job too! :D Glad you found your lost knife! I too just found a knife I lost, my Cryo II, which I had carried for a good...

Rocking 2 blades today. PM2 in Cruwear and Maserin Atti. The Maserin is perfect for cutting up smoked chicken in the cafeteria without getting looked at.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Stripped and marked some wires at work. Coworker didn't have anything to do it with, and was asking if anyone else had a knife. Always surprised other people fail to see the usefulness of having a knife handy. Hate the overly perpetuated idea that knives are for self-defense. BRING YOUR TOOLS TO WOR...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Decided to go back to the beginning. My first Spyderco was an Ambitious. I decided to get one after trying out a friends Tenacious and seeing what a great knife it was for an awesome price. Really like the size of the Ambitious for carry and stuck with it even when I had a chance to go with some ot...

Re: What is your favorite Delica Variation?
As lovely as the pakkawood D4 is, the Delica that I have enjoyed borrowing from my buddy the most is a Wharncliffe. If it just fit my hand better, I would already own one.

Re: I want to buy one knife to last me ~10 years
I know you want to keep it under $100 but from the things you say you want, I think the para3 is the knife for you. Lots of folks are recommending a native and though i think it’s a fine knife and love Spyderco’s backlocks, I think your desire for “fast, satisfying deployment and retraction” might ...

Welcome to you, fellow recent ex-lurker! Compression lock should break in over time, at which point it should flip open pretty easily if you use your thumb to decompress the lock and flick the wrist (whether opening or closing). It takes some practice for those of us who carry on the left, but I hop...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
:D Welcome to the forum, renegador! I recently challenged myself to carry only fully serrated knives for awhile. I've been using my Pacific Salt SE for the last few days, and so far it's been fun getting more familiar with an SE blade. I used it at work today (among other things) to cut the plastic...

Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive CPM-Cruwear Paramilitary 2
Mine arrived Friday. Has been loved on and carried since then. Was a little surprised by the edge that mine had. Probably the worst edge I've ever received from Spyderco, even my day one Tenacious was better done than my poor Cruwear PM2... But that said, holy crap does this thing like a little ston...
